TPMS failure - anybody had this?

Hi you good folk,

A two hour drive on Sunday led to all four TPMS failure warning coming up and an alert on the dashboard.

Came up as an RDC failure and just said check tyre pressures manually, but safe to continue driving.

Disappeared and was normal a few minutes later with the tyre pressures showing again on the idrive, but happened 3 times on the journey and cleared itself....

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Armaan

It's more likely to be the TPMS receiver in the boot area that's failed, it's quite common apparently. And relatively inexpensive & easy to replace yourself.

There's a really good DIY guide to replace the module...

Garage List
Yep almost certainly TPMS module. A single sensor or two, maybe batteries.
All four in one go, what's the common denominator, the receiver.

If it's not on the outside of the fuel tank, it is probably in the rear boot area.
£60ish for a new module from BMW, plug and play, no coding required.

Labour at a garage would probably be charged at a few hours, plus an unnecessary coding charge.
It's not a hard DIY.

Thanks for the reply, will call BMW tomorrow after a drive to see if it comes up again.

Sounds like the module as you say and a cheap fix by the sound of things to do myself.

Appreciate the replies all.

Driven it twice since and the fault hasn't recurred - so I've left it be for now. The part from BMW is £67 and they said it'll take a few days to order in - plug and play.
