*UPDATE 04/02/21* updated pics added in new post at bottom of thread!

After 6 years of fun with my E90 335i, I was forced into purchasing a new car after it met it's untimely demise by way of a mailbox. Driving home from work and half paying attention, I clipped a mailbox that resulted in $11K in damage and the car being totaled out.

With my beloved 335i now gone, the time had come to move on to the next project - a 2019 440i Gran Coupe. Mineral Gray w/ Coral Red interior, M-Sport package, black M-Performance kidney grills, and M-Performance carbon fiber mirror caps to start things off.

First impressions - I miss the steering feel of my E90, but the technology and creature comforts of the 440i are better suited for my daily commute.

Mods so far:
- M Performance BBK (stock gray brembos for sale here)
- Color-matched side reflectors

Pics below - looking forward to learning more about the F-series platform from everyone!

Congratulations on your F36!

Wow, $11,000 damage to the E90? One would never think so from the pic. That's a nice E90 though. What are you doing with it? I'm an E90 and F36 owner as well.

What a great looking 440i GC. The Coral Red interior is perfect. Congratulations!

Did you purchase M Performance brakes from the same dealer?

Thank you! Yes it was a bit shocking to hear it was totaled out from that impact. The main culprit was the damage to the upper part of the frame right above the side view mirror - there apparently isn't an easy way to repair that back into spec. I debated keeping it and making it a track toy, but ultimately I took the $ and used it as the down pmt on the F36.

Thank you! I actually ordered the MPBBK from getbmwparts, and had it shipped to me. My dealer here had no issue installing and just charging me for labor.

One more vote heavily loaded with awesomeness for red calipers. Nearly perfect.

I wish BMW offered a choice of caliper colors when ordering M Sport brakes option.

Damn nice new car but I can't believe that your e90 was totaled from that impact. Doesn't make sense at all but shit I would take it!!!! Lol. What insurance company do you have? Would love to know the idiots that totaled that.

Thank you!! I agree - caliper colors should be an option!

Thank you!! My insurance is with Geico, and I have to say they were fantastic throughout the process. Apparently to repair the structural integrity of the pillar to BMW spec would have required a ridiculous amount of labor, which drove the cost into totaled territory.

M Performance brakes available only as an accessory purchase do offer a choice of calipers.

M Sport brakes available as a factory order option do not offer a choice of calipers - unfortunately.

The only difference between M Performance and M Sport brakes are rotors: drilled / slotted in M Performance vs plain in M Sport.

Calipers are the same.

Looks great, my F36 is nearly bone stock. Only debadged it so far. IND Reflectors on the way, still unsure if I should go OEM or replica performance diffuser. Then also have to consider painting it vs unpainting. I like the look of leaving the center black while painting the side extensions.

I think you and me both are in need of a tint. Unfortunately the short and stubby trunk makes most spoilers look too aggressive and shortens the length of the trunk. Some are minimal and look good but unsure of where to get them from as most are eBay.

Lastly, look into larger exhaust tips and fog light delete (I personally like the fogs).

Thank you!! I picked up the diffuser from another forum member unpainted, and just had a local body shop paint it for me. I agree, I have yet to come across a spoiler for the F36 that I like. Car is actually tinted 35%, larger exhaust tips will come when I get the Dinan exhaust

Are the brakes worth it? I don't necessarily think the stock brakes perform poorly or feel bad but I don't track my car either. If anything, I'd wait it for the colour lol

painting it and leaving the center unpainted on the rear diffuser is the way to go IMO looks much cleaner

To me they were worth it, but of course value is subjective. Is there a night and day difference in performance vs the standard gray brakes? I'd say no, there's not a major difference performance-wise between them.
