Discount tire TPMS not working

Hey everyone,

So i just installed some new tires on my 624m with discount tire, and had them price match these sensors I bought off amazon.

My car's manufacturing date is 05/2014 so I have the newer sensor part no. 36106856209 which changed to 36106881890

Here is the amazon link

Here is the discount tire link
discount tire tpms

After trying to reset, after about 5 seconds, the TPMS malfunction error comes back up, like it doesn't recognize there are even sensors

We tried coding them as both 2014 and 2015 but neither worked

I will be going back Friday to try cloning the original sensors onto the new ones, but does anyone else have experience with Discount tire's tpms?

Sorry to hear that.... I think there a thread here long time ago about this. There is only a few aftermarket tpms that will work on our car. It's a hit or miss.... That's why there are many long thread here about TPMS.

Most of what it say is always buy OEM TPMS. The only alternative is the TPMS sold my tirerack around $150 for 4.

Discount tire/ America's tire don't work... My close friend got one.... They tried and tried and tried.... No dice it doesn't work.

You could have check with the forum first

New sensors must be coded to the car. You don't just install them and they are good to go. You need a bi directional scan tool, or something else that can get into the wireless module.

I'm certain that's what they were using already to code them to the car already.

What does this tool look like?

I was told with the RDCi sensors the DSC can do the coding itself. I bought some used winter wheels and there was no issue.
After all 4 wheels mounted, the car needs to sit for 8 Minutes before you may drive. Then it needs 15 Minutes driving faster than 20miles/hour. After that you should be able to do the reset.

Ok I'll try that out. 8 minutes with engine on or just accessory mode?

I did, the only reason I bought the discount tire's sensors was because they offer a price match and warranty and would replace if it didn't work. I guess in this case I might just use the ones I bought originally

Doesn't matter, just engine off and no wheel spin

Ok I'll try that later
So let me make sure this is right:
1. Turn the car on and sit for 8 min
2. Drive for at least 20 miles and 15 minutes
3. Then perform reset

I've recently put Discount Tire TPMS on my 2016 335i GT and they've been working great from the beginning. This was after a cheap eBay set was failing at 49% during reset.

When the associate was looking up the compatibility for my car, I remember him showing me the screen and it had two options with pics. One was black and he mentioned it was 'plastic valve stem' and the other was red and was 'metal'... both the same price. I asked if they could do the metal one and he was happy to oblige. Hope you get it resolved soon as I know that damn warning light can be pretty annoying

Lol I know! I'm certain we put the metal stem one on too, so I'm not sure what to do next if what we do on Friday doesn't work :/

I have multiple tire/wheels sets. I never coded a thing to make them work. I put the new wheels on and reset the TPMS via I-drive. When it hits 100% it just works. Sounds like you got sensors that are not the right ones. My F30 was made 8/2014 as a reference. I saved my sensor box cause I had a heck of time getting the right answer.
