Buying from OR and bringing to WA
I know you still have to pay sales tax and all that but I am wondering whether there are any extra fees you'd have to pay when buying a car from OR and bringing it to WA.
I am basically trying to determine if (simply put) Dealer A in WA offers a brand new car for 30k Dealer B in OR offers the same car brand new for 29.5k In the end, looking at it from a pure financially stand-point, which deal is better. |

I bought from OR few months ago. Don't recall any extra fees. Plate and registration didn't take long, plate was ~10 days and registration was ~3 weeks. Dealer took care of everything (my friend told me that I have to do registration and everything by my own). If the only difference is $500, I would purchase from the WA dealer. May I know what Oregon dealer are you looking at?

Just confirming no sales tax. However, you will need to register at the DMV here and it will take some effort since most likely the dealer will male the title to your local DMV. Then, you will need to go in and pay the typical registration fees and they will do a car inspection.
I bought a car in WA and registered in OR. The opposite but the same process. |

I buy all my cars in OR. I do that cos i get atleast 3k difference. no point in going to OR for 500$ out of which you will be spending 100$ in gas and eating outside while travelling plus the 200 miles in new car.
regarding tax ,title and registration....dealer will take care of it completely just like you bought the car in WA. |

Buying in CA is even cheaper than buying in OR. Like, 3-4k cheaper in some cases. It's worth looking around.
Only downside to CA is that you have to do title in CA (or the dealer will have to drive the car to the border for you), so you're out $450 or so for CA title.
