I think on modern car with already very bright rear lights the use of fog lights in the rain is overkill, I can see you already no need to blind me.....also the spray is often not consistent so for most of the time you're just annoying everyone behind you.

I thought fog lights made you immune to accidents in poor conditions? I've seen many a rep mobile doing 85mph on a dual carriageway in driving rain with their fog lights on

I love the morons who put their fog lights on in built up areas when visibility is around 300m. They are usually on then for the next 3 or 4 days until their brain engages once more and they turn them off.

And... fog lights are for FOG not rain.

When it's dim and you can't see your hand in front of your face fine use them, gives the advance warning that you're there to the car behind but if you can see their headlights behind you then they can see your normal lights... so turn them off....quite simple really. The benefit is then when you brake they will see the brake lights, which helps them not plough in your arse end.

Should have the adverts on TV bit like the old Green Cross Road man, but then there's no educating some folk !!

Yes, if only everyone did that. If you can see the car behind and he hasn't crashed into you, you can assume he's seen you so switch the bastard things off. It should be perfectly permissable in cities to drag folk from their cars and club them to death if they sit in front of you, at traffic lights, with fog lamps and brake lights blazing away. "I've SEEN you, you fucking bellend!!"

12th December. Result in the balance. Still time to publish the Xenon Party manifesto and get elected? One policy politics is normal these days and you've got a good one right there.
