On the iDrive screen atop the dashboard and in part on the HUD as far as I understand. Looks very nice on screen.

Is that real or a shop? If it's real, then it's pretty awesome imo =)

edit: plus now that I think about it, it's even cooler because it would get rid of the problem that you might have with the polarized glasses

I'm going against the grain and saying I don't like it. Seems like a safety issue to look way down on the back panel. I get it if the car didn't have nav and if all cars didn't now have the iDrive screen, but with those - seems like overkill.

Just look at the text. Flat and clean. Dead giveaway.
Take a look at the head of the arrow. A little kink in it. Poor photoshop work.

If it's a photoshop, it's a fairly accurate one. Those graphics look very similar to the Nav graphics I see in the HUD of my 535i when Navigation is active. My 535i does not have the black panel display (it's too old), but this is what the BP Nav graphics look like in the 5.

It's not in the owner's manual

BTW, there is another pic showing same graphics with HUD active (only speed is displayed)
Seems like there is a way to toggle what's on the instrument panel display (and maybe the HUD). My E46 only has a single line display in the panel and you use a button at the end of the stalk to cycle through available content. |

You can determine the displayed content for the HUD and the Info display in the settings menu under HUD and Information display, respectively. Guiding instructions afaik are shown either in the HUD or the instrument cluster, not in both at the same time, the HUD having the higher priority.
