Also, temperature differences are rather slow and close. With light sensor you could have reading 16000 and then 300 if you enter in little bit shadow area. This is problem on its own. You still want to react fast on changes such as tunnel, but you don't want to react it on shadows etc.
That is true that temperature changes are not as rapid as brightness... but thermistors constantly do change read out value, so you still need an algorithm. It's a tuff one isn't it? On one hand you wan't to have a rapid respond when you enter a tunel, but on the other hand you want to ignore constant changes. Personally I would have smoothing out algorithm with piece of code check how big is the change in short term readouts and how long does the peak value stays on. And then act accordingly.

Like RedErik suggested, could use something similar in the code. Take averaging readings. If the average changes significantly within a set time period , the program can dynamically change the output. Changing the "weight" of the sampling (thus the output response as well) based on a dynamic change of input values is also an option.

Edit: this DIY (has a download) guide shows the light sensor details that is at the rear view mirror facing front, towards the windshield. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=970448

My CCC MCU is from the same date. But looking through my log now, I see that I had a lot of different issues with PDC. I had to switch the PDC unit to the latest revision to get it working at all with Android (on oem side it was OK until the water leak). An issue with not switching to PDC/camera view when in reverse gear, was fixed by a new MCU supplied by my seller Coika (in fact this was the first MCU available on this forum, and I think the latest for both CCC and CIC also are supplied by Coika). But this specific issue with PDC/Camera interface not staying on, was actually fixed for me in firmware version 3.8.0. So it might not be an MCU issue at all. Or a combination of some or all three of MCU, firmware and PDC unit.

Been working my way through these threads since picking up one of these units at the start of the week but haven’t spotted a definitive answer; Gas anyone managed to source an anti-glare screen protector for these units? The reflections in my car are so bad during the day I’m actually Considering going back to the factory screen.

You didn't mention what screen size you have so I'll assume it's 10.25". Try this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362972837148

I have a CAN reader for my arduino board. I bought it to create a remote starter, but looking at CAN messages is a pain and pretty much gave up going this route.

I have an Andoid 10.25 coming in the next few days. In reference to the sun glare, anyone used these? They can be cut to size and the feedback seems good.

Initially I got this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N6C04..._ZKmqFb128WR64 and had to cut it to size. I can imagine that this one is no different than what you've selected. Overall it's ok, it's better than nothing but doesn't eliminate the problem completely. Now I got one of these 'cut to size' Brotect and will be installing probably today. I will take some pictures to compare them but honestly I'm not expecting a massive difference. Now when I think about that I don't know why I ordered Brotect in the first place

It is 10.25 but the F10 version is a different shape. These units are probably closer to the 6 series but I’m wondering if theres one out there thats the same shape as the Android unit. Looking for something that doesnt look too obvious when stuck on.

Hi all. Is it possible to add autokit in the list with the navigation apps? What’s the line that should be added in the SupportNaviAppList of the factory_config.xml?

The idea is use the shortcut voice button on the steering wheel to launch carplay.

I am using a headunit with android 9 and snapdragon.

Thanks in advance for you help.

How to backup HU partitions

This guide probably wont be helpful for regular users, but I will share some tips for those who maybe want to do some mods in Android system etc.

I was messing up with the unit and last time I've got corrupted system because I wanted to mod CentralService.apk. I had to do factory reset with USB method, but I was happy that it worked. At least I don't have a brick.
Since I recently disassembled the unit, I took opportunity to solder USB cable to the Snapdragon board, according to this guide.
I can say that it worked, and I left this cable just in case so I don't have to disassembly the unit and solder cable again. With cable, ADB is accessible in recovery and fastboot in fastboot mode, but strangely, it doesn't work in Android system.
You can backup the partitions even when in Android (with "dd" or ADB), but if the unit doesn't boot up in Android, you don't have a way to restore it except with this USB method.

Here is list of all partitions if anyone is interested:
Code:

Ones you may be interested are:
Code:
boot -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p25 -> if you root unit, install magisk etc
recovery -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p26 -> recovery 64MB
system -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p28 -> system, 3.2Gb
userdata -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p54 -> data and internal storage, about 56 Gb
vendor -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p29 -> if you want to save factory_config.xml etc, 1Gb
Basically, you will need to restore only system partition if your system gets corrupted. You can also backup /userdata but it took long for me (about 30 mins), maybe there is a way to make it faster, but I didn't look into it.

First time I've used "dd" to back it up (you can google this method), but I found that it can be also done with "adb pull".
Code:
adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p25  boot.img
/dev/block/mmcblk0p25: 1 file pulled. 32.6 MB/s (67108864 bytes in 1.965s)
adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p54  userdata.img
/dev/block/mmcblk0p54: 1 file pulled. -204.5 MB/s (56765160960 bytes in -264.692s)
adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p29  vendor.img
/dev/block/mmcblk0p29: 1 file pulled. 33.3 MB/s (1073741824 bytes in 30.794s)
adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p26  recovery.img
/dev/block/mmcblk0p26: 1 file pulled. 32.7 MB/s (67108864 bytes in 1.957s)
Now little bit of my experience and how it saved my HU. I took another effort to mod CenterService.apk. I've disabled security verification in Android System, basically everything that could allow installation of modded apks. But it didn't work. At last I've uninstalled CenterService, and tried to install modded version. After restart, unit was corrupted and booted into fastboot.

I though, ok no problem, I will boot into recovery with USB cable and restore partition with ADB. But for some reason it didn't want to switch to recovery from fastboot. At last, I remembered that you can flash partitions even with fastboot. So I tried:

Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
This worked and my system booted in Android like before. Maybe it would even work with USB OTA recovery method, but I haven't tried.

In general, I hope someone finds the way how to mod system apks and this guide will help them to recover if they mess up the system. I had it enough for some time.

Best Regards

Hi everyone! I'm Kevin from Spain, I've been following your post for a long time and I think it's incredible !! I have learned a lot and I hope to continue doing so, I currently have a rockchip px6 of which I am very happy but I am missing things and seeing the incredible work you do, it hurts not to have an SD625 to make things easier for me😅.
(I'm sorry for English, it's the google translator)
I would like you to guide me a bit in the doubts I have in the first place if someone has a more recent update than the one I have.

EasyConnected

Hello everybody,
I need your help.
I have reinstalled the PX6 firmware 8.1 and no longer have a Phonelink EasyConnected in my system.
How and where can I get this app reinstalled?

Hey guys I need help and i cant make a thread yet idk how im new but I have one question, I have a 320i 2014, and it seems that I have an ENTRY (not ENTRYNAV) NBT system, would i be able to still get an 10.25 android screen for NBT with no issues? or would I have to do something to the headunit? or would i have to get an android screen for cic?

Pull the screen (10 minutes) and look at the connector to be sure. We can guess which one you need, but do you really fancy sending it back to China, trying to RMA and then getting a new one sent for the sake of checking?

Hi all. I am have installed in my car (BMW X1 F48) an android screen (snapdragon with android 9) and I am using a usb dongle from carlinkit for carplay. When i am starting a phone call through carplay , voice is routed through the OEM bluetooth and everything is ok. The problem is that in case of incoming phone call the voice goes through the carplay, I cannot hear the caller and I have to reselect manually from my iphone the OEM bluetooth to fix the problem audio.

Is this a common issue? Any idea for the resolution?

Please note that my car has no aux - only usb.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Peace everyone. Another one adding on..

I'm working with an F87 car with HK system. The car has original navigation, I believe 8.8" screen. I've purchased a 10.25 android unit;

https://www.viovox.de/bmw-touchscree...d-10_1350_3835

I'm completely stumped here. After installing the Android unit - Audio works the idrive controller works (twist nob, movement on android display unit matches), navigation works.. however it seems that the BMW head unit is not communicating with the Android unit fully. Clearly some connection exists because moving the idrive controller moves the menus on the android. It's that when I try to access "car" menu it shows "No Signal".

LVDS pins match, LVDS connection is seated as much as it can be seated. I've already sent the unit back to the seller and they tested it on a bench as being functional. I am not sure what I can check or change further. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance.
