Hi,

Which Android screen have you installed? I have a 7.1 Android screen from Andream. Which has the exact same problem. Hotspot not automatically connecting and the bluetooth sound is horrible.

You can use the idrive controller with apple careplay to navigate in spotify, google maps etc. The i drive controller does not support other 3rd party apps on your android screen.

Controlling spotify with idrive is better than by touch...

I've not rooted my device yet, so I use Tasker to run these steps to accomplish the same thing (fixing sound issue).

Create a new profile: Event, System, Device boot.
Tasks:
1. Start KswMedia app (I've changed this to the BT app instead, it's better because the KswMedia starts playing music immediately)
2. Wait 500 ms (you might need to increase)
3. Press Back button 2x (change this to 1x if you're using the BT app in step 1)

Edit: You can now install KSW_SoundRestorer to fix this bug. This also fixes a similar bug in call volume. Thanks to Frankly30

Is it possible to extract the launcher files from Ksw-P-Userdebug_OS_*-ota.zip, edit them, then pack together and install/update? I want to insert a tile for starting DAB-Z, and change the tiles for browser and file manager.

I know about the LayoutChanger, but this requires root and Magisk/Xposed.

I don`t know in which context you write this but please keep in mind, as far as the knowledge here is at the moment Carplay/AA -> idrive support on Android 9 is only given with PX6 units, not with Snapdragon SD625 !

you don`t need to repack the whole OTA image, you can replace the .apk file with adb when the device is rooted.
To change the apk you need programming skills
then keep in mind that software updated from the chinese are published very often, so you would need to reprogram the apk every time they deliver a new package, which is just not worth the time.

Its easier to use the "workaround" using a different tile.
If you have ID7 GUI, then you can select DAB-Z for "Music" app under settings, then your small Music tile will start DAB-Z

if you have ID6, then add "com.zoulou.dab" to the "SupportDvrApplist" of your factory_config.xml, activate activate "USB DVR" under Factory Settings, so it will start DAB-Z when selecting the "DVR" Tile.

I`ve got the same problem, if I want to liste the radio I haven't android side sound. For now my solution is to listen to radio with an app in the android side.

that's completely normal.. android sound comes from aux, you can't have sound from 2 sources at once.

that is not entirely true i can listen to the oem radio and have sound from igo navigation works like a charm . best to try different nav software

The following problem occurs, when I make a long car ride (more than an hour), the sound drops from carplay, radio or navigation voice away every 3 minutes for 2 seconds, at short distances, there is no problem at all.
I contacted my Vendor and got the latest MCU from him and installed it, but today still had the same problem.

Did anyone recognize this problem? And if so, does anyone know a solution ?

Do you have an external amp? This could happen when the amp goes too hot.

Check, and check again that QuadLock is correctly inserted.

Regarding MCU, which version (date) did you get?

Sorry but what do you mean by amp ? (amplifier ?) if so i don't have.
I will check Quadlock, but it's strange that the problem is coming after an hour and not after a sort drive

You can't compare your device to Snapdragon or PX6.
You have a special device with Intel processor,
You need special mcu and firmware files for that and can't use posted files.
