Reactivate Carplay after Dealer Update
Dear all,
I am experiencing issues with my Carplay and would appreciate your assistance in resolving the problem. Prior to dropping off my vehicle at the AGU recall, I forgot to reset my FSCs to OEM. Unfortunately, the dealer proceeded to update my system and in the process, deleted my FSC, resulting in the disabling of my navigation and voice input. As a result, the dealer returned the vehicle to its original state (without Carplay). After I received my vehicle back, I attempted to activate Carplay using the Feature Installer. Although it worked initially, Carplay failed to connect after the next vehicle start. Subsequently, I have been unable to connect my iPhone to Carplay. While my iPhone recognizes the connection and the function to connect is available in the Navi, the Carplay menu does not appear. Whenever I attempt to connect my device, the message "Waiting for connection with Carplay" appears for an extended period before ultimately failing with the error "Can not connect to Carplay." I have been using Carplay for the past two years and have exhausted all troubleshooting measures. Specifically, I have tried: Reflashing with Feature Installer using the original code Reflashing with Feature Installer using a newly purchased code Restoring OEM with Feature Installer and then flashing again Attempting different variants of reboots, resets, and reinstalling the connection process. Additionally, I have obtained a set of Repair FSCs, but I am unsure of how to install them or if they will resolve the issue. My vehicle details are as follows: BMW F31 320D YR.2017 Nav Professional (ID5 (Coded Skin of ID6 Light)) Roadmap: Road Map EUROPE EVO 2016-4 NBTEvo_Y24132J (the version at the time of the initial flash was different) Thank you for your help in advance. I hope I have provided all the necessary information and look forward to hearing from you. |

I dont think the repair kit is much of help since using feature installer code will activate all FSC.
For "Waiting for connection with Carplay" sometimes is the wifi antennae missing. If the wifi antennae is there then it will be the coding. Had some similar case about carplay not connecting and its was the coding for WLAN in the headunit. |

The WiFi antenna is definitely there, but I need to verify if any changes were made in the coding. From my side there arent any. Could you please let me know the required coding values for CarPlay/WIFI Antenna to function properly? |

WLAN_WIFI_DIRECT was set to Active. I also checked some other parameters I found in another post. carplay_swt was //set to active apple_carplay //could not find this CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN //could not find this APPLE_ENHANCEMENTS //was set to active A4A_SWT //was set to active ENT_MIRACAST //was set to active ENT_MC_WLAN_STREAM_DMP //was set to not active, enabled it. ENT_MIRACAST_DISPLAY_SETTINGS //was set to active WLAN_STATUS //was set to active Strangely, after I coded the values, I lost all my previous codings. The Navi is now back in Factory Settings after coding, as I wanted to connect my phone via Carplay, I got the message: Apple Carplay can not be activated. After a restart of the head unit, the option Carplay is now fully disappeared. This behavior, I have never had before. |

My fault, I pressed "Code" instead of "Code FDL".
At least I was able to locate the error. I have now re-entered the values -> Carplay works. After that I tried to activate Fullscreen. -> Carplay Stops working same behavior than before. Disabled Fullscreen again -> Carplay Works. I was using the following values to enable Fullscreen HMI_39_39_128 = active AUX1_IN_HU = value_21 CID_DISP_AR = ratio_1_07 As i have version Y i should have also CARPLAY_Fullscreen which i don't have. HMI_39_39_128 is a trimmed function, i should still be able to use one? Do you have any idea how I can still enable fullscreen? |

If you used feature installer you dont have to do any coding for carplay to work. Vo code the HU. Any fdl coding will disable carplay.
code only WLAN_STATUS and WLAN_WIFI_DIRECT if carplay doesnt seem to connect. |

What I have done now: Set FSC codes back to OEM via Feature Installer Coding of the ECU also reset. -> Carplay + Fullscreen installed with Feature Installer. Same problem as before, Carplay connects but can not be opened. The car says that no connection can be established. Thereupon I have set via Esys the entry HMI_39_39_128 from Active to False = Carplay works. Carplay without Fullscreen is pretty crappy so I would be happy if someone else has an idea how I can use this. |
