I ordered one of the first units back in April 2024, so I'd say it is 2014, but it's not clear to me the rationale behind the nomenclature my2014, my2015, etc.

Does anyone have any experience with the song listings appearing in the search menu, but the songs not playing? I can see all of the songs on my iPhone, but I cannot play any of them. I have posted the photo of what I see.

This happens with both the USB cord and Bluetooth (The "Audio" box is checked). It was a sudden issue, as it worked the week before.

I had this the other day with my brand new F31. iPhone 5S running 8.1.1. BT Audio and USB audio were working fine. Then all of a sudden, it was as if the iDrive didn't know what was going on. Turned out to be a phone issue. Restarted and all good.

I also noticed on mine that i can plug in USB and it doesn't disable the BT Audio like the 320d I had on loan. Must be the extended BT thing.

Lastly, did anyone figure out the missing Show Notifications thing? I don't seem to have the switch there? Is it a missing option that causes this or should it be standard functionality in the iDrive?

I have a 2013 F31 without Nav.
When I connect my iPhone 5S via bluetooth I can get my SMS messages OK but emails don't show up in Office. I am filtering on ALL messages so wonder if I am missing something in set up on either my phone or the car.

Connecting via the iPhone cable to USB in the console doesn't make any difference.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for my ignorance but I'm in New Zealand with a 2013 F31 and there is no window sticker that I can see.

I exchanged my non dab HU for another similar age HU with DAB. After installation I could see the DAB options on the radio and now that I’ve changed the aerial amp and added an aerial cable the DAB is fully functioning.

The problem I’ve now got is that the Bluetooth telephone won’t initiate, all I can see on screen is “please wait”
I also can’t see the current software version in settings. Any ideas on a fix? Is it a coding issue?

Lightning cable for music, charging with idrive control works great. I just got a bloke cable because I have a blk int.

As mentioned in the thread you linked, I have no need for a Y cable on my 2015 335i since the stock Lightning cable works just fine, and I don't have the tech package or enhanced bluetooth.

Guys instead of looking for a USB/AUX to Lightning cable get one of the Viseeo Tune2air WMA3000B. It comes with the Y cable and enables a bluetooth function. You can control you iphone with the steering wheel buttons and see the song info on the screen.

Why? I have a simple USB to lightning cable, can control my iPhone with the steering wheel buttons (answer phone, start Siri, select songs) and I saved $100+.

Am I missing something?

I am currently doing my bachelor thesis with BMW! I have always been a huge BMW fan and I can't wait to buy my first E30!

For my thesis I have to come up with a new feature for the ConnectedDrive system. I am doing some research now to see what BMW drivers think of the system and which option they have in their cars. It would be really great of you could help me out! I have made a really short survey for BMW drivers who have ConnectedDrive features in their car. You would help me out so much if you could fill it in, it takes less than 5 minutes!

I use the Lightning cable with my iPhone. Not sure why yours won't pair though.

Not sure , it does not appear on the external devices too . Should i order a Y cable ? it just charges with the lightning cable
