Advice needed - how to ipmrove soft suspension of f30

Hi everyone.

I have bmw 320i, manual, m sport (with sport suspension) that I have been driving for almost two years. Until now I have been mostly driving in city and found the car ok when driving slowly. Due to the specifics of my work I will have to travel a lot on highways in the coming year.

Our highways are quite poor. Although potholes are absent, there are lots of bumps and waves. In such conditions the car is horrible, too softly damped and floaty. The body control is just missing. The comfortable speed is maximum 50 miles (speed limit is around 70 miles). I come from E90, that had almost the same problem with stock (non-sport suspension) but was cured by m performance suspension. Before that I had a couple of m sport e46. I found the comfort in e90 with mps and e46 just fine with excelent body control and am looking for a similar experience with f30.

Although I believe that m performance suspension would most likely cure my problems, I am reluctant to pay another 2k on this car, since I am planning to get rid of the it in a year and switch to some other brand. Besides I just had to dump 2,5k on oil pump, balance shaft and chain replacement.

So what I am looking for, is an advice how to improve the body control of my car without spending a lot and significantly degrading comfort. I am planning to use stock springs and will only be replacing shocks. I am not looking for the ride drop.

bilstein b4 or b6 seems the logical choice.

I see that bilstein b4 looks like an OEM strut, while B6 looks quite different. Would both fit stock sport suspension springs and what is the difference between those two? I am afraid that B4 will be very much like the stock sport suspension

One more question. What is general opinion about koni sport and stock springs? Would it be ok, I just could not find definite response, and I was also considering replacement of only rear shocks. Would it work?

I'd love to hear how things go if you install the B6s with your stock springs. I don't mind the higher ride height as I do get snow here in Boston and would like a more button down suspension without losing ground clearance.
