I have heard the front Bilsteins have bump-stops internally, and with the fat rod can't use external bump-stops anyway. Are the rear Bilsteins the same in this way, and might using the external rear bump-stops cause an unwanted loss of travel?

Hello BMW Experts!
So who should I call about this question? Bilstein & Dinan!

Bilstien said their rear shocks are designed to be used with stock bumpstops. They didn't know what Dinan bumpstops were like, but said put some bumpstop on the rear.
Dinan said no, if you are not adding bumpstops to the front, don't add them to the rear.

There you go, what up wit dat (I think Bilstein had the better guy on the phone this morning)?

I know I'm not supposed to answer a question with a question, but why wouldn't you use the Dinan bumpstops with the Bilsteins? Because the Bilsteins are shorter than the stock shocks? If that's why, then you wouldn't need the Dinan bumpstops right? Really asking here, not telling, still new to the suspension side of things

The Bilstein front struts are different in that they have an internal bumpstop, thus needing no external one, even if one would fit.
I was wondering if Bilstein made the rear shocks to use no bumpstop also, for consistency if nothing else.

Ah gotcha. Yah sorry I don't know, interested to see if anyone else can answer this though.

Does anyone know if Dinan Springs for a 328i xDrive will fit a 340i xDrive? Tirerack has the part numbers listed as D100-0911 for the 328 and D100-0912 for the 340. I figured the rears must be the same but maybe the fronts are different due to the extra weight of the engine in the 340?

Will they physically fit, yes. The front spring rate is likely lower though so the drop will be more.

Anyone run 20" wheels? Did the wheels close the fender gap with a 30 tall tire?

i know this is an old thread but......
According to my research this part does not fit, the part # I got from my dealership is different than the ones you listed.
Is this one of those things where the part is from an M5 but will fit the 335i?
Or am I missing some of this thread and the thread convo changed from 335i to M3?

sorry for my ignorance in any way

Any long term reviews here with anyone running these springs with Adaptive M Suspension? I'm about to pull the trigger on these or AC Schnitzer springs as i don't want to drop more than 1" but I want to eliminate a lot of body roll on the car.

Not sure how long term you mean, but you'll be fine. No worries with affecting the suspension. Just installed a set of these on my buddies M235i. I personally run even lower springs (H&R SuperSports) on my 435i and they've been fine for 2 years now...stock M struts.

Dinan springs review

Intalled on my 335 with EDC Suspension (great combination by the way). The car trasnformation is amazing and the ride confort is not affected -Just a little more stiff but still super confortable-.

The springs eliminate the boaty feel, and the aceleration and braking dive..

The drop is not very pronounced (3/4" from Sport Suspension) and keep the car very drivable.

I totally recomend them. In my opinion these should be the stock springs for sport suspension.

Wanting to add my thoughts in here.
Installed this week on a 340i XDrive with EDC and saw about a 3/4 drop.

I guess we'll see if springs settle any more but I'm happy with it nonetheless.

Ride comfort is not sacrificed at all, car feels just as comfortable but planted at the same time. I don't feel the same boaty-bounciness that I felt going through dips as I did before and body roll has been reduced.

I can feel a lot more of the road when in Sport + which is definitely welcomed.

Also, if you have the right tools install is very easy, was easier for me to do this than it was to install my Remus exhaust.
