Another new first time F34 owner.....

My E90 just got mangled up by an interaction with a semi trailer so it got me looking around for something new. I looked at a '16 428 GC, '16 Z4, '12 535, '16 328, and a '16 335. Actually had a handshake deal on the GC before he couldn't afford to pay off the balance of his loan and tried to raise the price on me.

Then I looked at this immaculate '16 328 GT with only 17k miles on it. Owned by a retired high end auto broker who had bought it for his wife to putz around town with. Only blemish at all was 2 door dings and he brought his dent guy out and did a masterful job of making them disappear.

Super excited to get out and around with it. The thing that blew us away was just how much room was inside it. I'm 6ft and with the drivers seat where I needed it, an actual full grown human could sit in the back seat comfortably.

It's a lot better with a pair of these, to make up for the too upright seat back with zero lumbar support:

Happy to see another Melbourne Red on here, nice color! The room is what really sold me and my wife on it. Can fit a kid seat in any of the rear seats on not compromise on the front seat positions. Then the hatch area is lovely. We will eventually add a roof box for long trips when we need to pack a bunch of stuff but its been a great weekend car for the family. We were actively trying to avoid a suv/cuv/van and the GT was just what we needed

Are you planning on keeping the car stock or are you gonna make any little changes?

Looking to clear bra the delicate parts to keep it looking nice. Already ordered black kidney grills as well. I'll probably do something with the rim's too. I have a powder coat guy so maybe some gloss black with red accents. Read a little on programming some functions so that is something I might be interested in doing too.

I went with black grills too, not sure why they didnt offer all black as an option when all the other trim is black.

Seeing your car really makes me want to delete the front plate too. I have a buddy that i am going to leverage for the coding, just gotta get him to come over and visit.

Yea, in AZ they aren't required but we have so many cars imported from CA that you run into a lot that have screw holes already. I walked away from a few cars in my search because of that. One thing I didn't really expect was how much longer than my E90 it would be. I need to rearrange the garage to get the clearance I need for it. It's a little challenging because on top of normal garage stuff, it's also a wood shop with a full 10" cabinet table saw, drill press, jointer, band saw, and router station.

I really wanted a red one, but settled for mineral white due to the exceptional deal I could get from Greg Poland at Pacific BMW (even when you include shipping it was a steal).

Just backed it into the garage and I have a question.... what's the logic in the design behind the radio remaining on seemingly indefinitely after you get out? I don't normally lock my car in the garage so how long is that sucker going to stay on for?

It will stay on for maybe ten minutes if you don't lock the car. I like the feature, it reminds me to lock the car wherever I park, garage included. My garage isn't wide open, but it's not impenetrable either. The logic is so one can still listen to the radio after parking and turning off the engine without having to hit the ignition switch again. If it really bothers you just push the start button a second time, which shuts everything off.

Its set for 8min I believe. A second press of the engine off button will shut it off as well as locking the doors like Billfitz said

I also enjoy it, normally unloading the car or getting the kid out of the back seat, so i like to keep the tunes going a bit longer.

I wasn’t a fan of the radio staying on so I coded mine to switch off when the door is opened.

I just got my BT adapter, I'm going to give coding a go in the next few weeks. I'll probably do the same as that is what I'm used to in my other cars.

Happen to be in the same town, interest to know how the coding works out for you. On thing I want to code is ability to close the hatch with the key fob or the button near the driver seat.

GT and Wood Tools

It’ll be a few days, but all the tools and the GT will get along fine in the garage! At least mine seem to. Beautiful car. Congratulations... you’ll love it.

Looks great! Are you interested in selling your 598m wheels?

I was thinking about keeping them around "just in case" but might change my mind and sell them. They do have some rash on them from the previous owner though.

I love them for the mess they help prevent and the looks aren't that bad in terms of mud flaps. I've have my E90 with them on for 15 years so the F34 looked weird without them lol.
