I'm coming to the end of my Service Plan from new (last service next month).

Dealer is quoting £900 for a four year extended cover on a 420 convertible.

£225 down and 27 payment of £25. It works out at £225 per year.

Service covers:

Oil & micro filter service
Brake fluid service
Major oil service
MOT
Seasonal check
Map updates.

As this is the first time I've come across this, can anyone offer an opinion as to whether this is a good deal?

every 10-15k miles or so you need a minor service which is around £200. The next one in next 10-15 k milesis a major service £500s So if you did 60k miles in next 4 years you would spend 1400 and 200 on mot. ie good deal. If you only do 20k miles in next 4 years not so good.

I took the 4 year extended service plan out on mine which included 3 oil services, 2 brake fluid services, 4 mot’s and 2 vehicle checks two years ago. Based on the service prices at that time it was a good deal. It didn’t matter if you didn’t do the mileage as it’s based on the approximate date as well.

Also it’s transferable to your next BMW or the buyer of your vehicle.

The map updates alone are £50 odd a year, so I think I'll go for it.
