I'm using an emulator.

Where did you get the FSC, did you have to purchase from BMW?

I contacted BMW Australia before I got the emulator and they were talking of A$1,200+ and couldn't guarantee it'd work.

Appreciate if you can provide follow-up, would prefer SLI from road signs rather than sometime incorrect speed limit from maps.

I got the FSC from a guy on these forums (greb). I'm not sure if he's fine with me mentioning prices, but let's just say it's rediculously cheaper than BMW.

Best to contact him directly.

My clone finally arrived. Installed and working fine with my 2018 maps. A bit tricky to get the instrument cluster back but it finally went in. Activated with FDL coding only by setting the following:

Hi,

Thanks for your forum comments, I also purchased the SLI FSC files from greb.

My car is a F26 X4 35d built in Oct'16 and I couldn't get the SLI FSC working, was previously using a SLI emulator.

The BMW dealer advised greb that I'd need to update my Kafas2 ECU with later firmware, I did this but it initially said failed and it looked like I'd lost 8 ECU's, probably ones that used Kafas2 cameras like pedestrian and lane change warning.

I tried a couple more times, then updated the CAPD file by injecting the later version and it worked.

SLI FSC seems to be working OK, but it fails to detect 25 Kph signs. I know it works as I found a 5 Kph sign and the SLI changed accordingly.

Ok I just installed the Chinese knock-off version with the kph graphic. Got tired of no one giving good directions so I figured it out myself and made an install video so you can see exactly what's involved (including coding with Bimmer Code app).

Took about 8 days or so to arrive to NJ.

Using the one from Romania, the red line indicator when going above speed limit that gnolivos mentioned does show. Also, using 2016 US map and so far just driving around my neighborhood does contain the speed limit info.

As far as wiring them up (this applying to my car specific, YMMV. Use this info at your own risk!), these are the pins I used off the A71*b kombi harness.

Pin 2 - Red/Blue - 12+
Pin 8 - Brown - Negative/ground
Pin 6 - Blue/red - CAN H
Pin 12 - Red - Can L

Thanks for the info! So you see he overspeed markers and you are seeing MPH units? You must have a 6WB digital cluster obviously too, yes?

Too bad it requires splicing. I'm still not willing to mess with factory harnesses.

Unless you already have KAFAS 1/2, you can not.

I paid around US$100, ask someone to code my KAFAS, he said he can activate the SLI on any BMW car with Kafas camera installed to read the sign and get the SLI from Map, no need to install an emulator, he said this is a KAFAS bug, but he did not share the method.

Just to confirm what I am reading...the car can come with top/side cameras and speed limit info. But, may not have LDW and HBA? Man, that's some confusing options to have/not have, based on the equipment that is needed for all of it to function.

Yes, I do see the overspeed markers which is pretty neat. And yes, I do have the 6wb.

Honestly, If you use the bmw wire taps, its almost undetectable when you remove it. You would need to look for a tiny little tap marks. And plus, the wire taps are from BMW haha!
