Creaking from drivers seat

I have creaking coming from the drivers seat. It appears to be coming for the seat back pivot point closest to the door. I've moved the seat back fully back to allow me to spray some lube into the hinge but its still there. It's driving me crazy. Every time I go around a left turn it creaks. Any ideas?

From experience it could literally be anything..

I had creaking from my passenger seat and I located it down to the back of the seat. So I took off the plastic cover and applied foam to any metal points to stop any materials rubbing.

I had exactly the same creaking when the seat was loaded and unloaded in certain situations and the seat base was replaced under warranty. Booked the car in and took a technician down the road so they could hear it. All sorted with no further discussion needed.

I might go the BMW dealer route as the car is still under warranty. It mainly happen when I'm in the seat for 10-20 minutes. I'll give one last go myself to save me the hassle of a dealer visit our two

I had what sounds like the same noise you're hearing on my 440i. Turned out to be the fos engine mount, I kid you not! Replaced under warranty and never heard it since!

I though some models suffered from rusty seat frames visible from underneath the seat could be this ?

I'll going to delve deeper during the week when I I'm off work including the seat frame. Hopefully I'll find a cause. I'll report back either way

If its under warranty take it to the dealer. These type of issues take lots of trial and error time to solve. There can be a multitude of reasons for it.

My car is out of warranty!
I need to fix is myself.
I have removed the back cover of the seat please help !

The solution is fitting a revised seat base. There is something in the metal mechanism that creaks and will only be fixed by replacing it. Mine used to do it round right hand bends and over certain bumps when the seat was loaded and unloaded in a particular way.

Mine was done under warranty and there was no trouble identifying either the problem or the solution.

Although it may no longer be under warranty a competent main dealer will be able to price and supply the parts needed.

My creaking is coming from backrest not from the seat base.
