There’s me thinking it was a load of old ladies getting together to talk about the changes to the recipe of tins of Felix.

I've not seen the footage but a bunch of chavs thinking they are in a fast and furious franchise and ploughing into the people watching is never good.

Lots of people watching cars drive by, one pulls out in front of another that is going quite quickly, spill off into crowds.

Not quite the "cars racing and crashing at high speed" that seemed to be the headline on one program this morning....

Sadly all bound to happen it seems, almost a matter of time. That chap crashing into the pavement and knocking over the woman's front wall the other week, just lucky no one was there.

Yeah the headlines are misleading, the car coming out should have possibly waited until the numpty, who did look like he was speeding, went past.

I just hope no one was badly injured or worse, killed, although there are some rumours of the latter.

Unfortunate & hope that all recover quickly.

My experience of St.Evenage is that a lot of them think they can drive like Ken Block & on a public road & they clearly can't.

I have a friend of a friend who went (well a fb friend anyway!)

Stupidity with loads of pointless accelerating up and down that road... they would go to the roundabout at the end and turn around and repeat.

Those kids in the middle of the junction equally stupid standing there....

The 350z was totalled...

Hmm not much left if that GT86

Where they the cars involved? My old man eyes couldn't pause the videos without it blurring?

I only ask as I've seen at least a few reports saying the blue car was a BMW!?

Both went crashing into the crowd.

Fast cars, young people and crowds in a public place, a recipe for disaster.

We used to do events like cars in the park which are nice days out to some stately home, with lots of interesting and fancy cars parked up, organised and safe with very little if any dicking about that I saw. (although that was 10 years ago now)

These retail car park init bruv/fam events just attract idiots and it's only ever going to go one way, they shouldn't be allowed.

TBF the person they put up on the TV didn't cover herself in glory....She looked like a rabbit in the headlights and didn't exactly imbue the TV screen with authority.

(she may well be amazing but that didn't come across)

Effective policing is the absence of crime not an investigation after the crime.......

I would say more local councils should have done more to restrict stuff like this.

In the west midlands since they introduced a ban to car cruising there has been a massive reduction in these sorts of things... sure lack of visible police gets the chancers out.... but once people report it the police are out instantly.

to be fair to the organisers, this was a static car meet. So what are we saying, ban car meets???? just a shame that a certain number of morons give these events a bad rep.

Not ban static meets... but cruises... and as a ex biker it hates me to say that!!

I’ve done a couple of car meets... especially when i had my Z4... welsh runs, evo triangle etc... and there have always been the silly few that will inevitably ruin it for everyone.

I did a PistonHeads meet at the cat and fiddle when I had my S2000, some proper bellends there, overtaking on the bends, racing and just generally being dangerous.
