JB+ first impressions
I installed the JB+ last night and did a bit of driving. Def woke up the little 2.0. Clearly was faster but initially lacked a bit of the stock smoothness. Early this morning, i did a couple of on ramp runs and now it feels smoother than stock. Quite pleased for $207. I go inside and tell the mrs i think my car is almost as fast as urs. she looked at me like she could careless. She's not a car person, she walks into a dealership and buys based on what looks nicest to her and has features she likes. I ask her to throw something on and head to "mexico" in front of me and floor it to see how much she pulled away. Hearing her car roar under full throttle is such a beautiful sound. She was in another county before I hit 4 gear. The little four banger is more fun now but 600 ponies blows it out of the water. There was no comparison to be had. New York Yankees vs. Girl Scouts. At the very least I think my car is more atheistically pleasing than hers. No complaints for $207. I would recommend based on my personal experience so far.
*Note: In CT we have 93 octane at every gas station, if that makes a difference.

So your wife has a bigger unit than yours and you like to brag about it. Strange!

Mike how much for a 2018 330i with the B48 engine. I was looking at the RaceChip RS + App. Plus the Dinan and JB+. I am very confused on what is the best bang for the buck? The BPMS is out because of price. Everything I read on here contradicts each system. Thanks

We offer all these units. The best bang for your buck is the JB+ for $199 Dinan sport is basically a JB+ + bluetooth connectivity for boost control. If your are going to change boost often Dinan might be the better option Racechip offer solid and reliable tunes which is why they are popular. For the price though, you can always find better value with Burger Tuning piggybacks.

I run a JB+ at max setting and 93 octane... almost comical how much faster it made my N20 X3 with a 3 minute bolt on. After about 100 miles of driving the car went from initially jerky to buttery smooooooth.
Going to 1/4mi it this week. |

SSpade....
Been with my wife for 13 years... yes, her M5 is a bigger unit than my 428. Yes, she absolutely runs the show. However, I consider myself very lucky. She’s kind, smart, generous and Smoking Hot! I mean smoking hot blonde size 2! She takes excellent care of me. I chose the 428 because I love the look of it. Financially, I could go out and pick any car.... aesthetically I really like the 4 series coupe. So yup, my wife has a bigger unit, it’s the truth.

In 2008 had a 335i rwd, cut the tires loose constantly and burned through tires quick. I ran it hard. Sold the car after 2 years. Now 10 years later, it’s pathetic... I accelerate slowly and drive in the right hand lane. I swear as people pass me they slow down to see if I’m high or something driving so slowly in a BMW. I’m getting old... lol... figured 250hp and all wheel drive was good choice at this stage. Plus as soon as I saw the car on the lot, I loved the look. Words of advice.... don’t get old! It sucks.

I like to think my mid-life crisis car would be a 964 Turbo.

funny... i always wanted a speed yellow 911 turbo. i had been saving money for years to pull the trigger and found a low milage 997 911 beauty down in FL (actually flew down to test drive it at Braman Porsche) and then the marriage pressure began.... so yup, i got married... yay for me!
with each passing year a few pounds get added that i cannot seem to loose and the idea of getting into a tiny low riding 911 is no longer a reality, but its still in my dreams. I will live vicariously through you my friend and everybody else on this forum! ah..the good ole days!

Ran my JB+ on the stock setting and didn't know if it was psychological or really made that much of a difference....
That was until I took it out last week because I have some maintenance coming up and wow - the car feels neutered now It's going back in as soon as soon as I leave the dealership.... |

no issues with dealer a couple of days for the car to readjust to the JB+ but it is running smooth now and faster |

I recently installed a JB+ to my 328 Xdrive. Here are my impressions:
Initially, I felt no difference in normal driving (lower RPM), and a slight difference under WOT at higher RPM's. After about 25-50 miles of driving, I felt significantly more power in all driving conditions, however at times the car was "jerky." I experienced a lot of turbo lag and then the power would just come on like a ton of bricks and slam you back in the seat. After about 150 miles, it really smoothed out. Overall I am satisfied and feel it was worth it. I am worried about the charge pipe though so may replace it with metal. |
