I finally pulled the trigger on a current model year BMW after reading all the doomsaying on here regarding the future of the manual transmission. My current car, a 6MT E60, has been fantastic despite the usual model issues (I completely replaced the fuel delivery system, turbo assembly, and thrust arm bushings) but it was lacking notes of the 21st century. So I decided to subscribe to the luxuries of the modern era's forays into navigation, Bluetooth music, internet and all that pleasantness...before BMW inevitably succumbs to the agenda of boring drivers who want boring cars to do boring things. Take a look.

I opted for the sill decals because I found the standard skirt to be a bit Honda-ish. It may be gaper but it breaks up the monotony of that straight line without transgressing into the flamboyant range of Mercedes body styling. With the black trim it only made sense to go with a black grille. As for the white interior? I was inclined to choose black until I test drove one and noticed the door lighting. I think the white interior and estoril trim combination will bring about an ambiance that rivals orchestral halls as I loudly and rudely announce my journey through the mountains of Colorado in a symphony of pops, crackles, and roars.

I had some time to kill today while my pup was in surgery so I went to the dealership near the vet and they showed me the actual color swathes for the leather we both chose. While it's nowhere near as light as the color shown on the build page, it's still going to look damn tight paired with the Estoril. I'll send you pics of mine when it comes in in a few weeks.

I ended up getting the black interior but that lighter color does look good. The exterior though is exactly like yours. Can't wait.

Valentine's update: she has arrived in Port Hueneme aboard the Theben. After clearing customs she'll be put on transport to Denver for finishing touches. Does anyone know how long that usually takes?

Quick update: the computers say it'll be delivered to Schomp BMW in Denver this Friday. As I'm out of town for work until next weekend maybe one of you want to go get some spy pics of her to tide me over?

I have named my new baby... her name is Frau Sara. Frau because we live here in Germany and Sara because our friend won the name game with her hilarious reasons to name her that (i.e. Sara is fun to ride, Sara has nice headlights, Sara can fit some junk in her trunk, etc...). I'm going to enjoy this car for a long time.

Aside from black interior and 6MT, that is the same exact loaner vehicle that I got from my dealer recently. That color turns heads!!

The windows still need to have the tint applied so I hope the black accents look even more striking. I'm actually seriously considering the M carbon spoiler solely for the aesthetic appeal now, too.

2nd, im assuming you waited 1/27-3/2 to receive delivery?

I have a similar interior but Venetian Beige.
Curious to see ur interior pics if u care to post.

German build. I placed the order back just before Thanksgiving. Wilco on the interior. I'm traveling back to Denver Saturday morning to pick it up. I will definitely be posting things then.
