New F32 In the Garage
Hi there just picked up a 2016 435i ZHP #47, the previous owner must of kept this thing under a tree all day and there is a ton of leaves in both the DME and Brake Booster compartment.
Any suggestions on how to get them out? I tried a vacuum but the attachment is small, keeps clogging and can't get all the way down there. There is literally layers of leaves UGH!! From my E92 I know these areas drain into the wheel well, any suggestions on how to maybe attack this from the bottom?? Thanks for any help getting this clean up! |

I had a ton of leaves too and like you say, vacuuming won't work. If you remove the fender liner you'll see a water drain, the whole thing pops out to create a decent size opening and you can get the leaves out that way. GL.

Try blowing it out with compressed air.

I spent hours vacuuming mine out. I haven't had the car up to remove the underskirt and try that, but I think I got most of mine.
To get down deep in those 'bins' I used a 1" d flexible electrical conduit stuck into my vacuum's hose...fit perfectly. I'd vacuum...pull out the hose, stick something in it to clear the blockage, and went back in again. I'd just done my plugs so had all the covers off and slightly easier access. Like yours, I guess mine had sat outside and that someone maybe hadn't installed the bin covers properly (or something). It did take me hours. BTW, I'm not sure about blowing them out as I'd suspect they'd migrate all over the engine bay. Good luck!

Just a thought... Don't crush the leaves, just still use some tension on one of these and pull them out:

I think if I'd known about removing the wheel well lining before I did what I did, I'd just try that. Maybe you can just turn the wheel and get in one side at a time without having to jack up the car?

Is this a Manual version? Which color Exterior/Interior did you get? Show pics.
