Stock F30: Burbles, Burbles, Burbles!
F30 Fam,
It has been 2-3 months since I chopped my muffler and It took me a while to discover that I get BURBLES in ECO-PRO!!. Due to the low RMPs, it triggers some subtle, but noticeable BURBLES! I definitely make an entrance. Check it out! |

DSC off gives best burbles,
And I hope you recover from whatever procedure you had done to your ears, looks painful. I imagine it was caused by the bad drone of a muffler delete, i had it too and couldn't live with it after 2 months. |

For me, I already have a full 3" exhaust and I'm not a "mad pops an bangs gunshots bro burble burble bro", so I would put the cut out in between my resonator and rear muffler. So when the cutout is open, its still passing through the resonator and will have a nice tone. It would just be a little louder and have some drone, due to bypassing the rear muffler. |

[QUOTE=CandyRedRC46;24, you could get a catless down pipe and weld a cut out at the down pipe to cat back connection. That way you can bypass the entire small 320i 2.5" exhaust. [/QUOTE]
That's what I was thinking 👍. |

Go for it, but be prepared, open downpipe will be ungodly loud. For me it was unusably loud, when I drove to the muffler shop open front pipe (only catless downpipe and supersprint front pipe attached, no resonator pipe, rear pipe or axle back attached). I didn't have the cojones to do any hard pulls until having the rest of the exhaust welded on. It literally sounded like it was going to shake the car apart every time it got into boost. Thats why for me, locating the cutout between the resonator and muffler makes more sense.

I won't do that then.... I've driven in my friends M3 with the exhaust removed and I remember the sound, anything close to that is way too loud 😂
