435i 335i M Sport Exhaust?
I have a 2015 435i and I'm looking at buying a m performance muffler cut off a 335i to put on my car for about $500 I have a few questions.
1. Is everything the same I don't want to assume that everything carries over from the 3 to 4 series 2. Those who have the M Performance exhaust with the n55 are you satisfied with the sound how loud is it? I've been listening to sound clips but it's kind of difficult to gauge 3. Should I just wait and get an Akrapovic cat back? I didn't really want to cut my exhaust but since it's an oem muffler I feel okay about it being less janky as a muffler delete still trying to figure out if it would be worth the haste |

video clips won't tell you anything. too many variables. if you'd like I can take video of my car and use different camera setups of the exhaust samw thing and they will all sound different.

I had my MPE put on and the first time I started it up I was expecting it to be loud...that was not the case at all it sounds almost the same as the stock exhaust, the only time I noticed the difference is if your at higher rpms it has a sportier tone to it and if your shifting in sport+ at high rpms you will now have the "suck fart up shifts", cold start was also louder but not much. If your not tuned and on the stock map will have burbles now very quiet burbles versus if your tuned and adjust the settings to aggressive. Add a DP to it and it really wakes up the MPE, it has a nice growl to it when accelerating and has a refined sporty euro tone to it, not like the others that have a raspy diesel truck sounding N55, imo its not ricey or over the top at all and sounds amazing when its still cold.

I agree with you, I think it will be a little bit before I made a decision in the meantime I'm going to see if I can find anyone in the Philly area from the local Bimmer club or such.

pm Boostedphil698, hes running the AWE catback with the performance mid-pipe and after market DP see how that sounds he's in Philly, but yea if you want something similar the the MPE on the b58 get a catback I think on the n55 the mpe is just an axelback whereas the mpe on the b58 is a catback.

iirc BMW increased the diameter of the exhaust pipe around 2015. That's the only thing you need to look for.
I have a 2015 435i w'MPE and MPPK. IMO it's a good compromise.

If you are going to do performance mods, add a DP before you add exhaust. Not only does the DP actually add performance (exhaust does not), but DP will change exhaust volume/tone and you should select your exhaust based on your DP.

I added a catless down pipe first and with stock exhaust it sounds pretty good. After adding the MPE it was perfect! Now if you want something loud and have no plans to upgrade the downpipe then do not get the MPE. But again sound is subjective to the individual and person preference. |

This is my n55 with a Catless downpipe and MPE. If you're in Orange County ca I wouldn't mind meeting up so you can hear it.
