Before I bought my F30 I drove another for a bit with adaptive suspension. I noticed it got a little bit stiffer but was way less than what I was hoping for. Considering I plan on keeping my F30 for years to come, the cost to replace an adaptive damper is ridiculous. I'd like to consider it one of those options that would be nice to say I have, but from a reliability standpoint, want to avoid.

Depending on the suspension you compared it to, not only is it a bit stiffer, but it does a better job of controlling body motion. Not great, but better.
Adding the Dinan Shockware tune is what really sets up the adaptive suspension to it's full potential.
