Bryan at Kies
FYI- Bryan said that the Pure Turbos Inlet pipe that he got in and installed for me is the first one that he has seen that was made with the stock bolt hole near the turbo end. You can just see it in the attached photo that I had taken.

Has your MAF sensor reading mystery been solved yet? It's baffling!

I'm going to take some more logs next week to see how reproducible they are. Also that previous log that I took was using a stock airfilter at that time since my aFe Pro Dry was drying after being washed. Don't have a clue if that will change the MAF numbers.

I'm also thinking about a dyno test since my mods are pretty much done and I'm curious. Thinking about setting up a small dyno day with some guys in the Philly area since we can get a group price. Maybe that would provide some MAF & HP/Torque numbers to compare.

Would need to win the lottery to mod further since a turbo upgrade, fuel pump, labor, etc are too much $. Plus I'm really enjoying driving it the way it's modded now.

None really.. the main issue is with getting the pipe out of the turbo. That damn nut is a huge pain. I had to get underneath and use a small wrench and it took a long time and cut up my hands and forearm to get off. Its also faily difficult to grt the new pipe into the turbo as well.. its hard to explain and i wish i would have made a video.

I watched Bryan install my new Pure Turbos Inlet Pipe and the Turbosmart N55 (Plumb Back model) Blow Off Valve/Diverter Valve without even removing the top plastic engine valve cover! Dude is amazing. Did most of the installation by shoving his hands in between everything and working by feel. Would be so difficult to get a camera in there to make a useful video. Gives me an even greater appreciation of the quality of his videos. Hats off to Bryan at Kies Motorsports!

Bryan has smaller hands than i do for sure! Hes a good dude, and it takes forever to make those videos. an 60min job ends up taking 120-180 easy plus editing time.

faaaaantastic ... ill have to see how far i get. I gave up on the DV+ install because of the tight space, big hands, lots of cuts.

What is the final verdict? Does it make a difference on stock turbo or not?

Did the install yesterday wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be definitely a lot more access to the inlet pipe nut from the bottom if you remove the intercooler, boost pipe and move the water pump out of the way.

For those who are looking to add in the DV+ having the inlet pipe out gives you a lot more access.... So good opportunity to tackle both.

Edit: one other thing the original inlet pipe has two hard mounting points the first one is down at the turbo where there is a screw on the flange. The inlet pipe is held on there with a nut and you can even see on the image of the new er inlet pipes that they have a provision for it.one thing that the new inlet pipe doesn't have that you need to watch out for on your stock one is that there is a bolt at the top it's 10 mm. just beware of that one I didn't realize that was there and I'm sitting there wondering why the stock one isn't coming out lol.

FYI- Instead of a DV+, I just bought a new Turbosmart N55 BOV (Blow Off Valve) from Kies Motorsports and Bryan installed it at the same time as the Pure Turbos Inlet pipe. It's a big noticeable improvement. It's more intelligent so it bleeds just the right amount of pressure off rather than just dumping all of it. So it reduces turbo lag and the power is right there the next time that you touch the throttle. Made my car much more fun to drive.

There are two models. Plumb Back model is quieter and Dual Port which makes more Intake noise.

Check out Kies Motorsports Website for more information. Bryan is installing it on his 335 so I'm sure there will be a video soon.

So did you install the DV+ while you were in there?

As much as I wanted to I just didn't have the patience. I have actually been on the fence between installing the DV+ that I have and looking at the turbosmart. I was working on the car late last night and I needed it for this morning.... I was able to access the bottom two bolts on the DV pretty easily but that top one is a bit tricky. It sits behind one of the turbo hard lines so you need to come in at a slight angle and I just didn't want to risk it even though I had a ball head Allen.if I had more time I might have kept at it but I didn't want to get into a no turning back situation.

my logs look good boost seems to hold and I don't plan on going more than the 16 PSI that BM3 gives me, so I'll keep at it with the stock one until it's absolutely necessary.

I've been looking at this as well...I'm surprised more people aren't running it. I like the fact that it's a complete build and doesn't require tear down of the original DV

I agree. The stock DV came out and the Turbosmart went right in. No mixing old DV parts with new. Attached are a couple more photos. Turbosmart has had products for other engines for years but these two N55 models have been shipping less than a month. I purposely got the quiet Plumb Back model because my car is a daily driver that my wife and I share. It's a burbles-off sleeper until you step on the gas. I'm anxious to hear the much louder Dual Port model that Bryan is installing on his blue 335. It vents to the atmosphere with a whoosh!

Ya I have one as well and don't want to even think of installing it because xdrive lol!

Only way I will install it is as part of a turbo upgrade install.

Nothing that says 100% yes... Short of doing this on the dyno or track and literally doing before and after runs id say there too many variables to know as of yet. Due to reasons, I wasnt able to get to the track to see if there was any improvement over my previous best.

I agree that the scientific way to test is to do before and after dyno when changing just one thing at a time. I'm still saving for my own AWD dyno. But there really aren't a lot of variables affecting the butt dyno with this mod. Install, get in, drive and clearly feel the improvement.

I've been meaning to format the MAF before and after data from three of us. Everyone's MAF values clearly increase significantly starting at 5000rpm which I understand correlates to a horsepower increase.
