If you google Bimmer code it’ll take you to the site. You need to buy a wireless OBD adaptor, they list a few I think the cheapest is about £25. Then buy the app for another £25 and you can easily do it.

The other option is to buy the cable which you have, which manually plugs into the same OBD port and then use your laptop. If you post in this thread https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=696777&page=655 I believe Shaun is very helpfully sending the links to people via PM.

I recently swapped the 6" stock screen for the 8.8" one on my f32.
Can someone please help me coding my new 8.8 screen unit on my f32? System turns on, but it shows no image.

I bought the ethernet cable with the ODB adaptor in ebay. I downloaded the link app to my laptop (shawnsheridan sent it to me), but I don't know what I am doing wrong that when I connect the cable to the car it doesn't do anything. I don't think the laptop is connecting to the car.

Can someone help me to code this screen step by step? Unfortunately, I am an amateur at coding. Or is someone willing to do it for a fee?

What happens when you connect, are you launching e sys through launcher and have you put the data files in the C:\Data\Psdzdata folder?

Contact shawnsheridan or post at the coding forums - people will help you out there. You have to launch eSys (in a virtual machine) via a launcher and do the coding there.

I'm looking to upgrade to a 8.8 and have no idea what nav I got. I got a 64 plate f30. I have bimmercode and obd reader could I find out from that if not my last 7 digits of my vin number is K282619 if anyone could help that's would be great!

It depends how you launch eSys. The free version of eSys Launcher has expired in 2017, so people installed it in a VM:

Oh right. I installed e sys then launcher premium and used the redating script and it worked (literally a few days a go for the first time)

Look at following video:

Just watch these parts:
- 00:00-01:47 (remove the trim)
- 05:15 afterwards (disconnect old screen and connect new one)

Ignore everything that has to do with the head unit or cable switching.

According to some decoders you should have the standard (business) navigation - do you see "Navigation" in the main menu?

Anyway you should have the HU_ENTRYNAV head unit and you can retrofit a larger screen (8.8" or even 10.25").

Yeah I got business navigation for sure. Just wasn't sure if I had HU-entrynav or entrynav as my car was the year they was introduced It. Is there a specific part number I need to look for when buying the screen or can I just buy the bigger screen. Also is there a difference if I buy the 10inch over the 8inch like any difference in coding or parts? Thanks for replying really appreciate it👍🏻

You'll have to cut up your dashboard for the 10" screen to make it fit.

You can check in Navigation > [right-click] > Options > Version (or similar) if it says ENTRYNAV.

You can retrofit one of these two screens, the only difference is the older pre-LCI one has a blueish tint.

And as cdwalls noted, a 10.25" screen will work but it won't fit without cutting the dash or screen.

My car : BMW F30 318d business (with navigation) of may 2014.

My choice seems to be between
9292248 -> pre-LCI screen
9387453 -> LCI screen

But I don’t really know if I have the HU_ENTRYNAV. I checked with bimmercode App and I saw HU_NBT instead of HU_ENTRYNAV.

You have HU_ENTRYNAV, BimmerCode just shows HU_NBT instead (that's okay)

EDIT: One user (domaxx) reported that his 06/2014 F30 with business nav did not work with the LCI screen, but worked okay with the pre-LCI screen:

I leased a 2018 330e recently but it doesn't have nav or CarPlay. This is the last 7 of the VIN: A756949

If I understand correctly, the only way to do CarPlay is by replacing the display unit. And the only way to do that is to be sure you have HU_ENTRYNAV, which is in the CPU.

1) Am I correct in understanding that?
2) And is it possible to know if I have that without buying and OBD adaptor to use with the BimmerCode app?
3) The other option is the Wireless CarPlay adaptor that I saw from Unique. I don't think that would require any "surgery" which might be better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

2) If it is possible, which exactly 8,8 screen I need to look for?

My car : BMW F30 320i LCI sport 2017 (w/o navigation).
I don't have navigation however seems that I have HuEntry 2 since it has bluetooth and USB from the factory. I saw first posts in this topic and it was written that swap of 6,5 to 8,8 is impossible for HuEntry, but is it the same for HuEntry 2?
If it is possible which screen I need to look for LCI HuEntry 2?
