good evening, I have a bmw f31 with carplay installed in a retrofitted nbt evo oem equipment, the problem I have is that when I'm driving it deactivates certain options such as using the mobile keyboard in a call or searching music lists for example (there is a limit of 10 songs), I am in Spain, I have deactivated everything that is speedlock, in fact in bmw idrive I can do all this, but in carplay no, in my wife's golf I do not have these limitations, does anyone know what to do?

I've not seen that before, som googling reveals It's a "feature" of iOS but controlled by BMW which would indicate it should be "fixable" via coding - do you have Video in Motion coded?

In theory yes, I paid the Chinese who coded the evo navigator for my car and released the idrive system, in theory I say, in the idrive system I don't have any type of movement limitation right now

In some markets, Australia for instance, there is Apps in Motion that means that you cannot use any idrive applications while in motion, for example: Spotify.

Might be the same issue you are facing

Yes, I understand that, but Spotify in iDrive has no limitations, I only have limitations with CarPlay, the Bmw apps do not have any limitations

Hi chaps, I'm new to the forum so apologies if I'm in the wrong section. I have a 2018 340i with the smaller display (6.5" I think?) and would really like to have CarPlay. Can it be done with current display or would I need to upgrade to the 8.8"?
I'd like to keep it as OEM as possible so don't want to buy aftermarket box with Android.

Had CarPlay fullscreen patch activated and and perfectly working. 2 weeks ago got my car updated to i-level S15a-22-11-540 and NBTevo_Y (it's a G31, but same issues...) at the dealer after a repair and it wiped out my carplay activation. I did not restore the carplay activation to OEM, my navigation was greyed out.
After I re-installed Carplay, VIM, Screenmirror etc. via same Featureinstaller code as first time, everything was working fine.
Stupid as I am, restored to factory settings via Featureinstaller option to check access to HU with Bimmercode app, no access, not important, so re-installed Carplay etc.
VIM works perfectly, but the most important, Carplay, is not working as it should.
I can select Carplay to connect to phone as usual, but last step synchronisation fails.
I can see my ssid wifi "BMWxxxxx Carplay" connected to my phone, also is Bluetooth, but unfortunately no Carplay screen. (Sometimes also ssid "DIRECT-03-BMWxxxx" shows up, but does not seem to connect to phone.)
Tried unpairing Bluetooth and Wifi (in car and in phone), re-pairing, resetting HU and phone. All in different order for an awful lot of times.
If I go back to HU OEM state, in Featurinstaller i can see the FSC's are "rejected". If I re-patch HU with Featureinstaller it states FSC's "accepted".
I'm almost desperate now.

How can this be solved?

Unfortunately I have the very same issue as mentioned above - apart from being on a F36 and gotten updated to i-Step F20-23-03-500.

Thanks a lot shawnsheridan - I got my CarPlay back up and running again and am enjoying it along with the MPPSK , which was the reason the dealer put on an I-Step update

@wibbles just checked our 2 active tourer entrynav headunit. Theres no port for the antenna, so assuming carplay is not possible? are there any other solutions of getting car play for it?

MMI box is the most OEM way without changing the headunit.

Are all carplay and fullscreen activations using feature installer equal? Lots of people out there offering it at a range of prices.
I would like to know is it the version level of feature installer that guarantees there is a backup left on the idrive for reversion before dealer visits OR is it that a merchant providing the code that is responsible for ensuring the backup facility is included with the carplay/fullscreen activation?
