330i Brake Question

Hi Everyone,

Just back into a BMW with my purchase of a 2018 330i.

Question is I purchased the extended maintenance package which included all maintenance past the standard 3 years 30,0000 to 45,000 miles since I am leasing for 3/15,000 a year.

The finance lady said the brakes would be need to be replaced prior to lease turn in and this in itself would pay for the 1400 it cost for the package. Additionally will cover oil changes and wearable items through the lease.

Will the brakes need to be replaced prior to 45,000 miles? I know I have softer brake pads but that seemes extreme.

Thanks in advance
Bryan

Pad replacement time interval depends almost totally on how you drive. They can last 25,000 miles or 70,000 miles, depending on how you treat them. The same can be said for rotors. I'm at 68k miles and on my second set of brake pads (changed at 40k I believe, by previous owner) and original rotors. I do need a full brake job sooner rather than later though.

Mine were replace around 40,000 miles under the maintenance plan as well. Cost was about $1100 according to dealer. ThaT was the quote before my SA realized I had the plan. At that point he looked for any other maintenance that was close to due to do it in one shot. Also got new wiper blades and oil change at the same time.

Ok.. So probably it seems it probably wasn't a bad decision to purchase it.

I traded in a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the new 330i. I had 118k miles on it and the original brakes which were still in fair condition.

When I had my 2007 E90 I replaced the brakes once in 80k miles.

I'm assuming the pads are high performance and supper soft?

It's really driver/traffic dependent and varies wildly. I'm at a little of 101,000 on original rotors and pads. Probably do brake job this fall
