And then people say the metric system is messed up lol. It's time all of you start using the metric system lol, at least it makes sense xD

We've been officially metric for years, but because of a combination of old fuddy-duddies being resistant to change and the apparently prohibitive cost of changing all our roads to metric (rubbish - other countries have managed it!) we've got this ridiculous hybrid system.

I HATE the imperial system but the muddle we have in the UK is even worse. Until I'd lived in Berlin & Paris, I only had a feel for measuring long distances in miles, short distances in metres and cm, people's height in feet and inches, objects' weight in kilograms, etc. Completely idiotic! I'd rather we'd stuck with imperial than take on that mess!

Anyway, rant over, back on topic .

I'm trying to decide between 2011 335D and a 2012 335i. with the M sport nose I don't hate the F30 now....so with 30mpg hwy possible I think I'll go 335i

going to drive both on monday. But these numbers are very encouraging.

Absolutely possible. I get 30 US mpg in my F10 535i on the highway. And that's with the 6MT which is worse at mileage than the 8AT on the highway because of the gearing. The 8AT should be even better.

That's impressive for a 535i!

Rather impressive. I just drove a F30 335i sport yesterday, and I told the wife "our mileage is going to suck for the first few weeks at least" as I stood on the loud pedal. hahahaha. what a wonderful car.

I just averaged 25 MPG on my first tank in the N20, about 400 miles or so. Almost 90% of that is driving around town and up and down a lot of hills, average speed of 28 mph according to the computer.

25.8 MPG on my second tank (347 miles) driving the same areas with an average speed of about 30.7 mph. also, im driving mostly in sport mode, or eco, but hardly in comfort unless i forget.

this next tank im going to leave it primarily in sport and drive it a little harder to see what the results are. my first 10 miles so far and i average 14 MPG

My commute is mostly highway about 30 miles each way. I'm thinking of cruising in Eco on the highway then switching to sport when I get off. I'm hoping to yield 30mpg overall.

I haven't even gone through a full tank yet but I can give some insight. My commute is 15 miles each way, 75% city/ 25% highway. I've been driving mostly in comfort around town, ECO on the highway and sport for a a minute or two a day on some backroads.

The car shows 30.1 MPG so far (~250 miles). Whether or not the computer is accurate is yet to be seen, but either way I'm doing better than the 13 MPG truck I came out of!

I've already got about 1500 miles on the F30 and I'm getting 26.3 mpg. No where near the 36mpg advertised, but not bad either. The majority of the driving has been in Comfort so far.

I'm going to putting another 1000 miles on it this weekend mostly highway miles so the mpg should go up a bit more.

I hope that the MPG gets better. I've tried driving in Eco but don't really like the feeling of that mode, at least not around town.
I got 63mpg on my new 320d whilst I was breaking it in, doing 70 to 80 mph. Hopefully this will get even better, brilliant will save a small fortune on fuel.

BMW has to lower the EPA estimate for the 328i auto by 2 mpg!

Both 328i and 335i auto have now the same combined EPA mpg.
