JDMAF's 2017 340i 6MT xdrive
Thought I'd make a thread about my new pride and joy. Took delivery yesterday after ordering thru Continental BMW in Darien, CT. Really nice dealership and have to thank my SA, Claus, for doing everything he said he would and dealing with my impatience! Even the financial officer, Frank Torres, distinguished himself by catching an error that saved me $2k at signing. Good experience. Live in NY but was glad to use CT dealer to take advantage of the MSD program before it goes away (which is real soon)
The car is a 6MT Alpine White 340i xdrive, black dakota leather, fineline anthracite trim, with Msport, track handling, 442 19 inch wheels (came wth bridgestome runflats) heated front seats, MPPSK, Carbon tips, black kidneys and body color front splitter. Ordered end of Jan and took deliv end of April. Tracked my car from south africa to bremerhaven, across the atlantic to Georgia then NJ and finally to the dealer. Looong wait. Worth it! On to the pics: first thing i checked to make sure the exhaust was on and with carbon tips. Check |

I agree - learning so much about the cool stuff this car does. Love the rev matching on the manual - loads of fun! Discovered the sport setting today. yeah - that works. installed couple of things - gear shift knob was waay too high - threw on the Mperformance carbon and alcantara setup - much better. ebrake handle and boot to match. Check it out

a couple of details - I remember obsessing about the decision whether to go with anthracite fineline or the black Ash. Went with the fineline. It definitely photographs browner than it looks in person. In bright sun you see many of the dark brown hues - actually very attractive and warms the interior which can be a bit cold and black when choosing dakota black leather. Took a pic of the fineline in the sun. Plenty of browns in there but also a lot of black - really works well visually imo

wheels - during the 3 month wait I had become convinced I'd remove the 442s and put on 437s either reps or the oem M437s. But I really am taken with how nice the 442s look. Certainly sportier than the standard F30 wheels but just a tad more conserative than the 437s. Definitely going to live with them as is for a while. The runflats tho - probably will be retired.

Car is looking good. I like the front splitter. Your front splitter and spoiler in white also gives the car a very clean look

Thanks it is a clean look. Not quite as mean as the blacked out splitter on a white car - looks especially good when car is lowered a bit. Im not going to lower so its Mr. Clean for me. |

Feelinblessed it was your build that inspired me. Love your car and would do exactly what you've done if I were going to lower it. But I'm not gonna lower. If I go with ind painted reflectors, do i loose their functionality? Maybe dumb question but curious.

Thanks. I do like the side blades but not sure I want to do that yet. The car has a classy and un modified look that I'm liking. The exhaust outlets are way cool and the burbles/over run sounds are more nasty the I expected. Liking that a lot. I think BMW stole the carbon wrapped exhaust finisher idea from aKRAPovic. No matter, it is cool!

Def get the iND Alpine white reflectors front and rear, maybe Dark Shadow which matches the oem diffuser. It makes a huge visual difference and their work is without flaw.

I honestly don't see the need for reflectors on front bumpers. You'll be fine without it and it'll make the car lines look more smooth!
