Any of you that have it installed, can you comment on the 'sticker set' the instructions mention? Maybe include pictures of the stickers installed? I'd prefer not to have a bunch of extra stickers/vinyl all over the car.

The kit comes with a little M Performance Power Kit plaque on the engine cover, a little white label under the hood that they fill in when they update the programming, and two M Performance stickers. The instructions say not to install the stickers unless the customer asks for them - I specified "plaque/label yes, stickers no" when I dropped the car off just in case. Got my stickers with the paperwork for the kit, might put them in my garage or something.

Since mine is port installed, I'm not sure how much control I'll have over it, I'll have to talk to my dealer.

When the time comes, you'll want to get in touch with someone directly at BMW NA's port-installed accessory program. They were very helpful to me and were able to get things done that my dealer didn't even think were possible.

The first post in this thread says that the torque increase for the manual is only 25lb-ft compared to 39lb-ft for the automatic. I wonder if that makes the power increase more noticeable in the automatic?

Curious to hear if anybody notices an increased turbo lag after upgrading.

I admit, I don't know a whole lot about this, but I was under the impression that, given the same turbo, if the software is tuned to create more boost and bump hp, we might see more lag before it kicks in.

@Big Nodge
The ASD seems to have been disabled on the latest I-Step level(s). Myself and many other people have noticed it. When you had the kit installed, the programming on your car was updated and most likely disabled it. |

From a technical standpoint - if all they did was increase the max boost, I'm sure it would add lag. But if they did a more holistic tune (which I'd expect), you'll probably see more timing advance, and a different fueling map as well as other changes, and together you might actually get less turbo lag in some/most/all circumstances. Throttle response is increased and it climbs through the rpms faster. As someone else said more smiles not more lag.

Lag will not increase when increasing boost as mentioned.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, have asked my dealer if my software was updated. Hard to say for sure, no note of a software update on the work order, and I can't say for sure that ASD is off, because the ASD settings might be different with the MPPSK. Either way the thing sounds mean from outside the car, that's for sure.

I mainly drive in Comfort mode because I don't like how Sport holds on to gears even at low speed. |
