I'm new to coding and thinking of getting the app on android. I don't think it has expert mode yet and I want to code my rear fog lights. on the app, it shows these as functions. are these used to code the fogs?

I am new to this but will be trying it out on my car next week.

Is it possible Bimmercode could eventually allow capability for us to get a GTS burble tune? How possible is that?

Can you run diagnostic and clear codes with this device too?

Not with the BimmerCode app. The developer of this app has another one called BimmerLink that will allow you to see and clear trouble codes. If you want to run diagnostics, like the dealer, you will need PC software for that which is discussed in other parts of this forum.

Tried out the device today and it went great!

Coded my mirrors to open/close with fob and comfort access. 100% angel eye brightness. DRL's in the rear. Everything went smoothly.

Highly recommend!

Hello all just got my vgate reader and about to pull the trigger on bimmercode but have a few questions to those that have used it with success. (1) can the directional aka blinkers be shut off so that they only go on when you need to make a turn? (2) For VIM am I able to stream the images on my phone to the radio screen or is just dvd based? ( I have apple car play in the car but I am an android user) this works against me having expert mode as well . last question I have read every single post from the 2 series all the way to x series on coding on this forum and some from others yet I cannot find a consistent answer to this should the car be ON...... or OFF? some have said that it will throw a code if the car is on while others say if just the ignition is on then it wont. This is very confusing I wont be able to erase codes since bimmerlink is apple based not android so strike two for me. it has also been noted the if coding the FEM the car should be on. I just don't want to F my car up doing this. On that not its a 2017 440 GC Msport if it make a difference.

All the best.

Ordered the Vgate iCar2 on Thursday from amazon and it arrived yesterday afternoon. Downloaded the BimmerCode app and programmed a bunch of things in about 30 minutes last evening.

Very easy to use.
A couple things from my experience:
- it did throw codes but they disappeared when I started the car for the first time
- it reset all of my trip computer settings (not sure if anyone cares about that or not)
- the only error message that wouldn’t go away was the “reset clock” on the dash error message. Mine was already set to “Auto time set” but it wouldn’t reset it. I unchecked the option and rechecked it in the iDrive menu and which fixed the problem and removed the error message

Other than that I just wish I did this 11 months ago when I bought th car.

Question

Received my vgate yesterday and did some coding this morning. The only thing that I can't figure out is how to activate the angel eyes as welcome lights. My E46 and E90 angel eyes would go on with the welcome lights, but not on my F30. Need help.

I would think but not positive the "Welcome Light daytime driving lights" in the FEM should turn on your halo's.

I don't have the iCar3 but if you have an iphone, put it in airplane mode first, then turn on wifi then try connecting to it.

Does anyone know if it has to be the vGate icar2 adaptor or will any other adaptors work with bimmercode?

I have a wifi obd2 adaptor I got a while back and am wondering if I can just use that one or if I need to buy the icar2?

For reference this is the current adaptor I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GO4GC8Y..._Jkk-zbG4BXBTY

Just try it. The app is free to download and connect.

Ok, I'll give it a shot and see. I wasn't sure if using a different adaptor will mess anything up or not. If the worse case is the coding not going through then I think that's ok...

Ok tried it, didn't work. Although my adaptor connected to my phone, bimmercode wouldn't detect it. Every time I hit connect on the app it said I need to use the iCar2 adaptor, so I just purchased one.

Anyone used Bimmercode with iCar Pro? This was the new recommendation from Stephan but reviews on it aren't great!

I want to replace my halogen lights with LED bulbs. What do I have to change on bimmercode?

In the app, just go into FEM then scroll down to the Voltage Monitoring section. Turn off both cold and warm monitoring for your low beams (assuming that's where you're putting the LEDs in).
