To pull the "open file" needed for the FSC Generator download ZIP LINK:

1. Unpack the ZIP file (1b.zip) to the root of an empty USB stick (aka. jump, flash or pen drive and/or "stick".
(be sure to use an empty drive and format the drive as FAT32)
2. Power on your car (ignition on is fine, you don't need to start your car) and wait until the navigation system has started completely
3. Put the USB stick in the USB port in the glove box or console, depending on vehicle.
4. Wait for around 30 seconds
5. Remove the USB stick from the port in the glove box and put it in your (windows) computer
6. Check if the file 1b.hex is present on the USB sticK, THIS IS the "OPEN FILE", save this to your computer and point the code generator to it.

Hey BackBlue, tried your instructions above and can't seem to get to get the 1b.hex file to update in my 2014 F31 with NBT. I have the USB port in the console.

Any tips?

Hello guys, sorry if this incorrect place to post but, when i try to update my map, i always get the message "please insert USB device with correct activation code" i thought the FSC was entered before the update begins but it gives me no option to insert any code?

Any help is appreciated.

I have also tried to manually input my long vin number into the FSC Generator but all the codes which get generated do not work.

My vehicle is a 2013 F25 with the following navigation system:

Europe
BMW Group
101114014
Road Map Eurpoe MOVE 2013

I have got the Europe MOVE 2019 Map update file ready to go into my car but need the FSC code.
The last 7 digits of my VIN: 0C69515

Please, please, please can someone help as im pulling my hair out with it!

I have been told that the newest update of Road Map Eurpoe MOVE 2020 has now been seperated into East and West is this correct?

Does anyone have a link where I can download it from, my source has now started charging for it?

Hello please tell me something. In the pen drive root we wil have fcb.bat and the 1a.hex that came from the zip?

Or only fsc.bat in the pendrive root before plugging to the USB car port?

I tried several procedures in a 320 2007 and it's not working. Can you help please?

Hey, how did you solved this?? i've got the same issue. no maps on the screen, just a message with "please insert USB device with correct activation code"
i downloaded the latest maps and when inserted the usb, the unit is recognizing it and asking for start update, but next message is the same as before: "please insert USB device with correct activation code"
