Hey guys, I wanted to see if any of you had experiences with a 2015 335i xDrive GT. I've found a great deal on one with 45k, almost 46k miles, and intend of financing it for about 5 years. This car will be my daily driver, and I wanted a mixture of practicality with the sensation of speed since this vehicle is relatively quick. So, my main question would be, what common problems would I encounter, especially when entering the higher mileage marks. Thanks guys!
Notes : The car came with free CarFax, and the car has had frequent oil/oil filter changes 5k miles or less in between. I also will mostly drive the car carefully since both my other cars have been totaled from rear end accidents. However, I do have a heavy foot on empty highways/stop lights lol. Lastly, the car will also have an extended warranty, but I will know exactly until how many miles when I see the car myself. Edit : This will be my first ownership of a BMW. |

Financing a 5 year old car for 5 years probably isn't the best idea unless you get it for super cheap. The GT itself doesn't have much problems but it also depends on the motor. I'd just research which engine is more reliable. 335 will have the n55 and a 328 will have either n20/n26. So just research those engines in terms of reliability.

The only sore points with the N55 are the oil filter housing gasket and valve cover gasket, which have a tendency to need replacing by 60 to 80k miles. Some other common F30 problems, like the steering rack, don't seem to plague the GT, in part because the rack and other parts are beefier in the GT, because it's AWD.

My 2015 335 GT was purchased CPO with 28k on it and it now has 35k on it with nothing but oil changes and standard maintenance on my part. Its less of a DD as its used infrequently but its still ~6ish year old car. ( miles and agefactor into reliabilty right )
