I think a second opinion is needed. Surely it can't be a printing error in the catalogue - http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/di...yId=10940.html

Its just wierd how it was not shown in the BMW database. The diagram is there, but just the end pieces and wiring harness listed. - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=03_4205

The guy in the dealers did say you can get the 335d in RWD also !

I have not heard of anyone who has one fitted as yet.....

What i have found out is the 335d is fitted with active sound design module, which does put sound into the cabin via the speaker system.
I just picked up the car tonight and it sounds quite good. Much better than my E92 335d.

Perhaps thats why the MPE its not listed for the 335d - because it has the ASD as standard.

I can't help wonder if the exhaust sounds better though, which it probably does. But is it worth shelling out £1500 for what could be not that much improvement??????

Oh man

If you compare the sound that only you can hear via speakers to the lovely rumble that can be heard inside and outside than you are all wrong.

Improvement is massive.
I used to drive 535d with ASD and it was a lovely sound but only for a driver lol

However that may explain why there is no real exhaust option available.

Has anyone else taken the plunge with this exhaust yet? It's clear what neo thinks!

I'm in two minds, purely as to whether the cost can be justified. If it was £7-1000 as per other MP exhausts I'd have it already. I have a couple of good quotes around £1400 (for the 330d version) but is it really value for money? I suppose if the standard one can be refitted there would be some residual cost in a used system, so even if you got £500 back a few years down the line it makes it more palatable....

I'm really feeling that this is needed on my 335d xDrive. Can't wait.

I've also found this and I'm getting one for my bike...

I'd want to stay OEM as my car is new but the other issue with the Kufatec is that its not a full system (more or less) like the MP one, so you're not getting the upgraded mid section or the bigger diameter tail pipes. I also imagine that by the time you add shipping and fitting, it will still be well north of 1k.

Haha very good! Reminds of the playing card clipped onto the rear fork with a clothes peg! I've finally come to the conclusion today that there are better things to spend 1.5k on. At half the price I'd probably get it but as it is (for me at least) its simply not value for money. At 44 I also think my boy racer days are behind me. Not that I ever was!

although OEM bmw dont actually make it. i think the OEM component is a kafutec one. i cant remember who it is has the monopoly on Active sound exhausts. the advantage of kafutec aswell is you can fit a 335i exhasut and still have the sound

Just ordered a f31 335d for delivery in march. I'm keen to know what the best way to get a good exhaust note is and if people think the LCI has the sound module installed already???

Going from Z4MC which sounds lovely back to diesel and an active system may make the transition a little easier to bear!

the asd within the car is effectively useless and I have already modified my exhaust it is a straight through from dpf now and made next to no difference.

this is categoricly the only way realisticly we will get any noise improvment. I messaged kufatec today they advised the whole kit is required. they quoted £1000+vat fully installed.

I maybe be able to stomache that I havent decided yet.

you get 6 diff notes included

Guys, I have had this fitted by Kufatec and can assure you that it sounds absolutely amazing in real life. The videos online do not do it justice. Virtually everyone who has heard it has commented on how amazing it sounds (and this coming form friends who own Lambos/Ferrraris).

I have had to turn of the ASD in my 335d as it was next to useless once this was fitted as the sound inside from the system is just sublime.

The whole kit is needed.

I have started to mess about with the sound now, you can create your own sounds. See https://www.sound-booster.com/

Is there a fitting service here in the UK for the Kufatec system anyone?

I spoke to BMW head office today and they confirmed that the M sport exhaust sound acuator for the 335dx is not available as the brackets to hold it do not fit apparently. They could not explain why the option still appears on the m sport list of options mind.
