AG M590 or VMR V710FF

Planning to purchase wheels in the next month for my 328 f30 and am stuck between these two wheels. I live in NY and the roads are pretty rough up here and I need something thats going to be durable. What do you think the better choice would be? The size I would be running is a 19x8.5

I like the appearance of the AG M590 better then the VMR 710FF, however the AG M590 is low pressure cast while the VMR 710FF is flow formed and consequently costs more. I'd go with the VMR 710FF because it's lighter and stronger.

ive had really good luck with VMR. my csl reps from them are going on 10 years old and i just ordered V803s from them because of this. Going with the V710FF is a great choice as its a lightweight strong wheel. Pair it with a 235/40/19 and it will give you slightly more sidewall than stock tire sizes for 19s. if you truly want a good setup that can handle your roads (rochester roads are not good) you could look to get an 18x8.5 and run a 235/45/18. This is what i run in the winter.

I appreciate you sharing your experience with VMR. I'm leaning more towards the VMR's due to the fact that they are flow formed. One concern I have with VMR is the hub bore size which is advertised as 72.6mm vs. the AG's which have a 72.56mm. 72.56mm is the hub bore size on f30's so I guess what I'm asking is how did the VMR's fit for you?

They fit just fine. .04mm is a really really small difference. I did not notice any slop in the hub when putting the wheels on. i make sure to clean the hub when swapping wheels and apply some antiseize as well so it makes swaps easier and have not had an issue. I plan to put bmw center caps on the new wheels when i get them so i need to see what size centercap fits. the old style or the new. my old VMRs use the older sized OEM caps.

A lot of people who chose 19s ended up regretting it eventually when they wound up damaging their wheel on shitty roads. 18s seem to be the happy medium. Just sayin.

I dont care to dig up old threads where this was discussed before but 72.56 is oem cb size. Some manufacturers round up to 72.6, some others lop the hundredths place 6 off the end, calling it 72.5.

I've read somewhere 18" VMR barrels do not clear m-sport/performance brake calipers, so query if you choose to go VMR 18"

To address your concern about the center bore, the .04mm helps account for any potential build up that could accumulate on the hub over time. To put it into perspective, the average piece of paper is 0.1mm in thickness. if you sheared a piece of paper in half, you wouldn't be able to fit it between the hub and and the wheel. If the tolerances were any tighter, it would be very difficult to install and dismount the wheels.

Another thing that you may want to consider when making your decision is the load rating of the wheels you're interested in. I can't speak for other manufacturers, but our wheels are load rated at 815kg/wheel which you can think of as being "over engineered" for something like an F30. Certain V710/V710FF fitments are even TUV certified!

If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM!

I think AG M310 is the perfect combo of both you chose. The m590 look really heavy. The M310 comes standard in some cool finishes too
