The throttle mapping and fuel maps are far less aggressive than comfort or sport, and they help you save fuel while you're accelerating up a hill or recovering speed from a slower driver, etc.
Yes, I completely understand. My first line stated it only impacts acceleration. I'm just pointing out that highway use is the LEAST likely scenario where EcoPro has any affect.
Makes a difference for me but I guess it's different for every region... In Toronto, we get more bumper to bumper traffic on highways than any other road :

Here in the tristate this 335i of mine I love it but she burns. The xtra weight of the Xdrive does not help.Drove her to NJ yesterday. Mileage Almost if not worse than my AMG C55. I drive eco mode ,granny shift here and still. Pay to play Not gonna give her up.

Best for me was 23MPG on F30 335i and surprisingly I got 21.5MPG on F80 with 6MT minus the roof rack.

2017 430i 6MT

At 18,400 miles, averaging 33 mpg with a low of 22 mpg on a tank and a high of 44 mpg on a tank. I’ve had 5 tanks of 40 mpg or better. The decent mileage is primarily due to the car having heavy vacation miles, in its function as a comfortable GT cruiser. The high tank was at an average speed of 65 mph and altitude of 5000’. I search out as many twisties as possible, but on scenic empty back roads, it purrs along at 2100rpm.

All mpg figures are calculated and speeds actual.

2012 328i N20 6MT

On road trips I easily get over 36MPG in 6th around 70. In my mostly backroads driving I get between 26 and 29 average. I have hit 500 miles on a tank before, but it's usually around 400-450. I use a good bit less than 1/2 a tank at a track day.
