Check that sound between 0:22 - 0:23

This is not regular sound when you upshift. This is exactly what you are getting in M cars when you are letting off throttle.

Yes, that is the lift off sound. But as far as i know this feature does not add that.

His car is DCT swapped (he makes 724 whp). That along with tuning could maybe produce this sound? I know he is a tuner for wedge performance.

As I said, this can be replicated by manual and ZF auto it's confirmed.

thejeremyman9 that means we have to look for a different solution. Maybe AmuroRay got this to work on his m235i

Possible on any EWG cars. Not for PWG. Achievable through custom tunes and not related to transmission differences.

The comments are by Wedge Performance, the ones who posted the M235i in the videos on this thread.

No updates. As I understand it there are tuners who already know how to and can implement it in their custom tunes.

Not available in any OTS tunes (BM3, MHD, etc.) what from what I can see.

I just got an email back from Shoup. He said this noise is only available on M car DME's

"the m2 stle burb is a logic sub routine only found on M cars sadly. It would take custom logic added to the DME code to make this work. Ive spoken with MHD about it several times and they should be adding it eventually."

He also said BM3 sucks for tuning the N55 and I should switch to MHD, but that's for another thread.

Hmmm. My m40i has this. Its not a full m car.

It should sound like this fluttering sound which is the boost being vented through the exhaust (skip to 1:02), rather than typical exhaust burbles.

Occurs at throttle lift, so it shouldn't be confused with the ZF8 upshift 'thrust' sound.
