Got a code telling me that the gas cap was not on right. So I cleaned it and put it back in place. The light is still on though. Could there be an issue with the tank itself?

Some warnings have to be cleared, which means a trip to the dealer if you don't know how to do it and/or lack the tools. Some will go away by themselves but it may take some time to do so.

This is because the system has to monitor fuel vapour release. Hence a warning light if the fuel cap is not secure. As above, this should re-set itself with time

Thanks for all the help. Is there an estimated time until the light turns off? I've had it for about a week.

I had this last week and it took 3 days for mine to clear but I also heard it could take up to 250 miles.
