Catted Downpipe, Smell + Volume?

I currently have a MPE with a catless downpipe, and i love the sound. But once i added the MPE, the smell of the catless got too strong. So I have two questions.

1) Does a catted DP, (Like ER's 200 CEL) smell? Im ok with a little smell, as long as its nothing crazy.

2) Does it make a difference in sound? Obviously it wont be as loud as my catless, which is ok for me. But for people who have it installed, did you notice a difference in sound?

Also, what catted downpipes do you guys recommend,
Thanks!!

I just went from stock downpipe to catted vrsf:

1) you get a little smell, not too noticeable

2)compared to your catless, probably going to be ever so slightly quieter and maybe less raspy.

So basically the catted will barely smell and will be pretty much the same sound? Great!

Do you have a sound clip of the catted DP?

No, not yet. However I also have an AFE exhaust, so it won't be comparable to your dp + MPE. Mine is very loud with the valve open.

I'm hoping you do post a video. I've got catless/resonator/mpe and I'm assuming your AFE has a deleted resonator (guess), so it should sound similar to mine if I were to go catted.

The AFE has a resonator, but it's basically straight-piped with the valve open, and then it routes through the muffler with the valve closed. I'll try and get a video when I'm not flying all over the country for work.

High flow catted downpipe will fix your problem.

It will provide same performance as the catless and will sound quieter.
On WOT and cold start, its still louder than stock

from my understanding catted dp will be about 95% of flow of a catless... 75% of sound...

A quality catted downpipe smell is barely noticeable

Get a custom tune with 15.8:1-ish idle and cruise. My money is on the smell dissappearing completely and better economy as a bonus.

1) Little to negligble smell

2) Quieter then catless, louder then stock. Smoother sound compared to catless.

Wagner, Fabspeed, ER - all great options.
