Shaking after Coilover Install
Hey all first post here!
I did my first suspension install this weekend on my 2018 340 xdrive putting in KW V1 coil overs. Everything went relatively well (I am so sore) but now driving it I am getting some shaking feeling from I think the fronts. I am at 1 finger front gap 2 finger rear. Going to adjust the ride height later this week. I’m not sure if the shaking is just alignment related? The car was aligned before I got it and had a shaking feeling already due to me finding out the front drivers side and rear passenger side shocks were totally blown with no rebound. The others weren’t much better. It may also be damage to the tires due to the bad shocks. Maybe the front is just too low for an xdrive? There are no clunking or other sounds coming from it just shaking that increases with speed. I swapped the front and rear tires left to right so maybe it’s just a bent wheel or something but wanted to get a second opinion. Thanks for your help! |

How many miles does the car have? 2 blown struts - front and rear - is a concern.
Since the vehicle exhibited some shaking symptoms even before KW V1 installation, I suggest to start isolating the root cause: 1. Remove all wheels, inspect for any damage, and RoadFoarce balance all of them 2. Lift the car and inspect all suspension / drive train components: strut mounts, control arms, CV joints, and especially front and rear xDrive axles |
