Mine still does it... I'm at 13 600 miles. Does it every day. Just did my service last week, BMW tech said the same thing as he told me last time. It's normal according to BMW HQ.

I have a 2016 340 8AT X-Drive with about 6k miles on it and I am having the same issue.
I put the JB+ on it and it causes a huge lag in acceleration when it squeaks. It was happening before and after the JB+ but with the extra power I can tell something is not happy when it slips and makes that noise. It's important to note that when I complete a shift successfully without the noise happening the shift and power delivery feel normal. When shifting with a similar throttle position and vigor if it makes the squeak noise there is a huge stumble between the shift. Strangely enough there seems to be less of a power drop when traction control is turned off. I have X-Drive and I cant imagine that the wheels are actually spinning at all between shifts. Alex.

For me, yes. I drove 20 mins to work today with the ambient temp around 70F. I launched off a light with about 80% throttle in manual mode and got the squeak when going from 1st to 2nd.

I get this same thing too. I thought it was tires chirping because I notice them most on damp days and in the morning when the sun has not warmed up the roads. That was my theory anyways. I have driven with my head practically outside the car and I feel like it comes from the back of the car. If others with xdrive have the same issue, it cannot be wheel slippage. I wonder if it is the rear differential? I must admit, once the transmission is warm and the car has been running for a while, I don't remember hearing it.

Brought mine into the dealership yesterday and they gave me the same story.. No TSB, cant reproduce, you were probably squeaking the tires not a belt... ect. I guess we just need to deal with it until we get a proper TSB.

This post is from June of 2016 when the b58 was still fairly new. This happens on occasion with my car usually just after getting underway from the 1st to second shift. It's not particularly loud and sounds like the belt slipping or something with the turbo wastegate. I imagine the SA saying it's normal during warmup and not to worry about it or they won't be able to reproduce it on demand unless it happens every time.

Just started happening today, as soon as it did I thought I remembered this post about it. My first thought was tires breaking loose but it couldn't have been. I'll have to see if it repeats but it sounds like it probably will. Even at idle it seems like there is a bit more belt chirping than there should be.

Not sure if someone has already said this but this happens to me aswell. i think i drive aggresive enough i will get it going from second to third at times. I notice it only happens when u start the car and begin driving. What i have come to think is the culprit is just that there is so much torque (and im sure my jb4 doesnt help the situation) is that it spins the tire when shifting cause i feel it jerky a little. So that is what i think is the problem.

Same for me. Usually when the car is colder and AC on. Once the car warms up it typically goes away

Same here, just learned to deal with it. Almost feels like it is slipping and is prominent when the car is cold.

Mine ... but it might take someone with better hearing than me to confirm that.

Let me add my car to the list too then. It's doing the same and I've always thought its a sound that's normal. But I drive in normal mode 99.99% of the time, so I kinda just forget about it.

Believe me it'll do it. My brother's 340 wasn't doing it and one day out of the blue it just started. And it hasn't stopped

Add me too the list.... same issue. In sport mode after letting the car warm up and decent acceleration, manual mode, I get the squeak as well from 1-2, 2-3 and sometimes 3-4 but almost always 2-3. Usually around the 2500-3500k rpm range.
