Just finished updating to the new release. At the first sight, looks like it's performing better than the previous version, but not extremely smooth as I was hoping to be. Need to do more testing and I will feedback tomorrow morning

Hi can anyone help me I tried to update the mcu with the new software but it got stuck at 74% so I pulled the usb out but now screen has gone blank and I can’t get it work.
I can hear the radio that’s all

What got stuck? Mcu or software update?
Mcu: put it in the root folder of an usb stick and insert it before you start the unit. It should install it automatically.
Software: try the same as above (can take a long time but check your usb stick when you have one with an activity light. Long time no activity, pull the stick and keep waiting. The unit should reboot achter approx 5 mins.
If its software and doesnt work, rename the file to px3_reset.img and try again.

This is how I reanimated my unit last time it got stuck..

It was when I tried to update mcu it got stuck at 74% so I pulled the usb out and the screen has just gone blank now all I can hear is the radio from the oem side I don’t know what to do now the screen is not responding

What is performing better? google maps? or in general?
because I didnt notice any difference in google maps performance after updating (+mcu)!

Hi DRuw I got it working with trying Mcu on usb stick again but now it won’t turn off when I switch car off and android side won’t respond to idrive anymore

Unit is performing ok during my 600km drive today.
250 to go in a few minutes and this far only some waze hangups solved with restarting waze.

Hello again I just succesfully updated to the firmware in your link, and everything is fine so far. I am just wondering about updating the MCU, but i would just make sure if the provided mcu file is for the CIC or the NBT version?

Ok, so I updated my software (to the version prior to the latest one DRuw just installed), and tested the no signal issue. Turned off car, locked doors, waited in car for 10-15 seconds, and turned back on and got the no signal. Next time, I did the same thing but got out of the car, locked it, waited 45 seconds or so, got back in and started it up and it worked with no issues.

Also there’s a new AutoPlay update with a new option to launch the app automatically when phone is connected, which is nice as I used to have to open the app manually (mapped to my
Nav button).

Waze is better now. With the previous android, usually Waze had to be restarted in the first 2-3 min because it was extremely slow and had issues in finding the route. After restart, everything was OK

This morning, after update, I had to wait 2-3 min until GPS lock(previously it was much faster), but at least I didn't had to restart Waze again...

This was the first trip after update.

This morning I also installed Spotify, wich was creating many issues, hope it's going to be OK now.

Not sure about the card, I've used the usb stick.

Don't add both files on the usb, do the update of the android, remove the file from the usb, add the mcu file to the EMPTY usb and update the mcu.

Got my unit finally working Louie sent the correct mcu file for my unit.
Lesson learnt make sure Mcu file is correct one for NBT or Cic otherwise you could brick your device

YES this is very critical. if you leave both files on same usb stick, during mcu update, there is a popup behind the mcu update popup with a countdown. If you dont see and you dont cancel it, after the countdown device will try to update again the firmware and will stop the mcu update in the middle!!!

when you all say usb, can you just stick of my original USB port or do I have to plug additional harness to Head Unit with USB ports ?
I intentionally did not plug the usb harness as it is really pain to chuck all of them between air vents

Usb of the unit, not the car!
Cables were easy... remove the glovebox and pull them thru the opening in the back... hot both accessable in the box
One for a stick and ons for the DAB
