11% is the discount given on the M40d via C2C, who then ping it over to an official dealership who must have some sort of association.

Are we sure it's a 40d ? I was told by various sources that this was not going to be available in the UK

Yes M40d. It’s one of the first questions I asked when Sytner High Wycombe called me after I’d submitted the C2C online form, as the form has an anomaly... he confirmed it was a 40d.

There is conflicting information here.
BMW website makes no mention of the X3 M40d
Does mention the X4 M40d and X4 M40i from August

C2C website mentions the X3 M40d and M40i but not the X4 M40i

I have noticed other broker websites mentioning the X3 M40d as well??

Time will clear this up!!!

Unless I'm mistaken, the OP seems to have configured and ordered one through the BMW dealer configuration system?

The BMW dude did it is what I read- it's not on bmw.co.uk yet. Interesting that other sites have it as above and

https://broadspeed.com/new_cars/BMW/...mber_Of_Doors/ (EDIT oops - sorry I just noticed someone put that above so I'm not first to party ;-)

BMW is behind? Well ...

I'm awaiting alphabetleasing to sort their shit out - I'm dying to get in there since I found out there was no more 35d and the only option was 30d, or 40i (which I'd love but I hate those chavvy exhaust pranks and the mpg ;-)

Just looked at the German website!
M40d detailed there!!
Also, M40i shown as having 354PS. That’s the first fact I’ve seen regarding the reduced power! So only 6PS down
CO2 up to 206 from 188, so another £410 ved in first year!

206! Blimey that’s worse than an M3/4 (with DCT).

But M3/4 was due to be so high emission figure under the new tests they scrapped them.

The U.K. site quotes in HP though I think. So 354ps would be 349hp, so it's 11hp down on where it was before. Not as big a drop as I think had been imagined though with the addition of the PPF.

PS and HP are virtually identical though! You’re thinking of BHP.

Me too, if 11% is possible before it’s even released it bodes well for great deals by next year, especially if BMW start offering deposit contribution on them!

Agreed but it still won't meet the increased NHS bill

They've stopped making the M3 due to emissions. But the M4 will continue, but needs changes. Will be fitted with a Otto particulate filter (as will all BMW petrols, according to this). Also fitted with a steel propshaft due to fitting this filter, so the carbon one will be dropped.

Interesting point to note in that article on the X3 M40d:

The new BMW X3 M40d will also be Euro 6d-TEMP compliant, using a 3-liter straight six B57 engine under the hood. The new mill uses two turbochargers to get 326 HP and 680 Nm of torque sent out to all four corners of the car. While its emissions are well within the legal limits, the M40d is also one of the fastest cars in the X3 range now, reaching 62 mph from standstill in just 4.9 seconds, marginally slower than the petrol-powered alternative, the X3 M40i.

After getting 28 mpg for my usual commute, which is short and start/stop, I’ve just had 35mpg on its first decent motorway run, at a steady 75mph. That gives a range of over 500 miles. The car was fully loaded with kit in the back and bikes on the back.

I’ve only covered 1500 miles so far, so still early days.

Fuelly has 17 X3 M40i models listed suggesting 25-28mpg is to be expected for the average driver
