Extended Warranty
I have a 2018 440i 6MT RWD. Have about 45k km mileage.
I am contemplating getting warranty but not sure how reliable my car is. Note that I have a BMW factory tune (M1 & M2 package) so it may affect the judgment. I drive about 20k a year normally once I don't have WFH anymore. So I am contemplating the following options:

I have a similar car and ended up going for the 72 month/80 000km warranty for 2350+tax.
I wasn't planning on getting it but a few days before I had to decide my trunk started acting up (not closing) and I took that as a sign. |

7yrs/120k for $4200 isn't a bad deal at all. That's essentially 1 semi-major repair job.
To put it in perspective, I just picked up a 2014 335, the dealership wanted $5,800 for 24 month/40,000km through one of those third party warranty companies. I actually thought they were joking. |

I just purchased a 2018 340i (get it on Tuesday. So excited).
I went for the 72 month 100k warranty. Car has 52k on it and the current warranty is up this November. This is my first BMW and I wanted some piece of mind. I figure it was a pretty decent deal. I typically drive 12 to 14k a year so I should hit 100k around the 72 month mark. |
