428i N20 Smoke Chimney

Putting this up here for troubleshooting and discussion. Hopefully someone can use this one day to diagnose their car. That's how I kept my N54 running, thanks BimmerPost

2015 428i with N20 engine. Prod date 10/14. 69k miles on odometer

On the commute home I was WOT for two shifts and at the top of third, it hit Drivetrain Malfunction.

Drove it home and car did not start after I shut it off.

Some C(h)o(r)de(s):

P300
P0303
P0087
P0304
P0301
P15DF Fuel high-pressure system, cold start: pressure too low

I changed the coils and plugs, car started right up, but still misfiring. Ran the car for a minute and it started smoking from the exhaust (didn’t notice the color it was night time)
New set of chords:
P15DF Fuel high-pressure system, cold start: pressure too low
P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire
11AC02 high-pressure fuel system, cold start: pressure too low
140010 several cylinders detected
140310 cylinder 3 damaging exhaust gas after start up
140001 several cylinders fuel injection is switched off
140301 cylinder 3 fuel injection is switched off
140002 several cylinders damaging exhaust gas after start up
140302 cylinder 3 fuel injection is switched off

Additional Info:
- Oil was changed frequently throughout its life but the spark plugs weren't listed on car fax. Upon inspection they were well used and cyl 3 and 4 had a little oil on the tips of the plugs.
- oil leaking from VC and OFHG for sure, but not much
- I had 2000 watts of sound going through a custom speaker system
- I drive like a grandma and the one time I WOT it misfires and limps home
- i can hear the hpfp struggling after I ran it for a minute, but I'm not ruling out the LPFP

Let me know what you guys think. I'll be update this thread periodically.

I replaced the LPFP, HPFP, and one fuel Injector and now she runs like water.

If I only replaced the injector I think I could have got away with it for cheaper but preventative maintenance… 🤓.

No codes at all anymore. And idle is smooth at 600 rpm
