Transmisson not in park?

As i drove off after a cold start: i got on my dash console "transmisson not in park" and my car engine shut down. I turned it on, drove alittle and it went to same mode again. After 3rd try, i drove off with no issue. Only happens at cold start.

I've never seen that before. You need to use a diagnosis tool to read the codes to find out what's causing it.

I did, 480134 direction of travel cannot be determined. This was random happened about 2 times in last month or so. Would I get a code if it was a bad door sensor? I read that this only happens when door is open and you try to drive. My doors were closed, and after my car turned off 3x in a row with same message…I was fine on 4th time turning it on.

This seems to be a code that even BMW can't figure out:
This relates to a sporadic fault that can occur in specific situations.
No repair measures required.
The fault must only be deleted if there is a customer complaint.
