Hope they get to open beta by April 1. I really want to flash by the time the weather is nice.

Seems like all tuners are using 480 in the gauges, regardless of power. Wish they’d just use 500 for the hell of it!

What are the risks on jumping in on an open beta vs waiting for the official release? And how long does that transition typically take? I understand from a general standpoint but I'm curious what they think might be left on the table that they're waiting on for more feedback from more people.

Usually there is no risk.. A LOT of the Beta is getting ROM support for all ECU versions.. Not sure how many there are on B58, etc.

Update from our B58 testing this week 422whp on pump gas with just a downpipe doesn't sound too bad, 93 octane pump gas and just a downpipe

Great numbers, just curious how this is possible with only 16 psi? Most flashes I have seen run boost levels of 19-22 psi? Is there still more left?

Gotta see what timing and A/F looks like before you can do a theoretical comparison.

Have you done any testing on manual cars?
Curious if you have encountered the rev hang/over rev issue on upshifts?
Or are your tunes based on a software version without the issue?

I hate rev hanging on mine 2018 340xi 3 pedals, latest factory ECU Update few weeks ago.
Is there a tune which addresses this?

Mission Performance rebuilt my tune on a software version without the rev hang.

Wondering how "required" the downpipe is going to be. Did the whole catless thing on my n54 and playing around with the dpfix every year got old.

I bought my 2018 340xi in March, both the initial factory flash and the current version, which addresses revving the shit out of the engine when cold, feel similar and have the same rev-hanging.

Which Software version/year is your tune based on?

I'm looking for a flash with must absolutely be undetectable, when I bring the car for service I will flash to stock but I cant have warranty voided.

I read the MP even with Mboot still bumps up flash counters and CVN
Not sure id that is still the case

In my opinion no flash is completely undetectable, the question is how much is the manufacturer willing to spend to try and catch you. Like Dirty Harry said, "you've got to ask yourself one question, Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

You're looking for something that doesn't exist. From a dealer perspective the flash might be non detectable but if BMW NA has to get involved for a large warranty repair they might select you to do a deep dive and they will be able to find the flash.

I can imagine that somewhere deep in the computers there must be a log of max boost pressure and if that is > OEM Setting then I eat a big one.

Catastrophic unlucky failure aside, I'm not looking to run on the edge of the hardware +10%. I'm looking for a conservative stage 1 tune ~ 400HP on 94 Octane, if at least the basics are covered, flash counter and other software flags, I would go for it.

Gotcha that makes sense. I believe most of the current tuners claim their tunes are invisible to dealer-level analysis. I cannot confirm nor deny these claims.

What is the down pipe fix? I have a catless and I've heard as long as you aren't throwing CELs u have a decent to good chance of passing. Is that incorrect?

I believe the current tunes are mostly invisible to Dealer-level analysis but if you launch a motor good chance analysis above Dealer-level will be applied. That’s why I’m sticking with just MPPSK for another year until warranty expires.

DPFix was something that was popular on the N54 (and I think N55?) that would stop the car from throwing the CEL and allow all the readiness tests to pass. If you are able to go enough miles without the CEL happening for all the tests to pass prior to inspection then you're good. If it happens and you have to reset codes then you have to have the tests pass again without a CEL before it will pass.
