N20 question 20i=28i?

Hey guys, just wanted your input on bootmod3 questions. So I was wondering if im able to use n20 328i stage 1 map on a 320i? and vice versa since they are technically the same engine with the same components besides the pistons. Reason I'm asking is because I have a friend w a f30 same engine as mine just different model, and wanted to know if it was safe flashing his eco besides being a different model but same engine......

Garage List
2016 BMW 320i  [7.87]
2014 BMW 328i  [6.83]
20i = high compression N20

28i = low compression N20

Bootmod3 reads and decodes your VIN so that there is no risk of flashing the wrong tune.
