I have a F31 2018 330i with NBTevo ID6 and CarPlay over 2/3 of the screen. Currently have X software and over the air updates of maps. From reading this post, seems like all I need to do is set Apple CarPlay Fullscreen = active. If this is true would I need to set back to not active when taking it to the dealer or should there be no issues? CarPlay has been working without issues for years, but I wish to have it full screen instead of the 2/3 screen.

You won't need to reset before a dealer visit if the Carplay itself is a factory option or purchased from the Connected Drive store.

Just wanted to report that Simon @ Bavarian Coding come over to see me and did a full Idrive 5-6 update on my MY 2017.

Full ilevel software update including idrive 5 to idrive 6 ( non touch )
OEM Wifi antenna install
Full screen carplay working
Further coding options various tweaks including default off stop start and folding mirrors on lock/unlock
Alpina Gearbox map which was suggested on the day.
(Even on stock engine nice upgrade class it as OEM+)

Very nice guy ,knows his stuff and updates working fine.

I am going to buy this genuine parts, and try to find someone to install on my F30.
I understand HeadUnit rear connector (#8) is for WiFi antenna. And it should be routed to the passenger footwell and goes back to head unit position?
I would need to understand it with some picture or drawings...
Would you help?

Wibbles can you advise?

I have a 2016 unit will NBTevo_E15501A with ID4 installed.

Looking for a WiFi antenna part number, can you help?

Part number is the same.

ID4 will need to be flashed to ID5

Thanks for this, I appreciate it.

Finally - going from ID4 to ID6, I've seen some commentary on the older units being slow due to the lack of RAM.

From what you know , is it worth the upgrade?

I never used to recommend the upgrade, but I'd say it's worth it - just be aware that you need a few Feature Installer codes to make it work.

Noted, thanks for the heads-up.

I'm planning to pay for the service.
