Looks like it will be an exact merge of a current 5 series with a e90...nothing different at all but as expected from this design team.

It does... the rear door almost looks larger than the front door. Maybe this is the long wheelbase version for China...? I guess it's good news for anyone who wants to carry passengers in the back seats though, they have never been very spacious.

It does look like a scaled down current body 5 series - which is a good thing, I think the new 5 series is a great looking car. I have never been a fan of one of the lines on the current 3 series that shows up in these photos. That is the trunk lid, facing the back of the car, along the top edge. There is that extra flat surface. Sorry, it is hard to describe. But it makes the back of the car look bulbous and undefined to me. It may be aero or has some other advantage, but I cannot believe it is a styling accent. The rest of it looks good to me so far.

Is that the just the camo ending on the A-Pillar that or is it the seem? If that is the seem then it is going to look really bad! +1 on those hideous mirror turn signals! Hopefully those are just there for regs ATM and we will get proper indicators on the fenders! IMO the new way the hood is a straight cut off from the nose reminds me of a cheap Ford or Chevy. The new 7 and 5 both remind me of this. I really miss the integrated hood edge like the E46 and E90.

My thought exactly. A mini-5. Which is itself a mini-7.

Back to the "same sausages, different length" theory.

Doh, I see they caved in and added mirror blinkers. I hope they reduce or remove them, or I can see a delete mod coming.

I far so good I guess.

The rooflines looks very much like the e90.

The photographer was lucky as the FEP cars were not due for public testing until later this summer.
